“We hired Jesus based on his reviews here on Yelp and after meeting him in person. The reviews here could not have been more on point!He was on time for our first meeting. He quoted us a fair price. He started the job on time and finished ahead of schedule. His crew was professional, polite and they cleaned up during the process which was very important since the job was on a busy street that has heavy foot traffic.Jesus was very honest with the scope of work. We discussed options for our project and he came up with a product that would be durable, economical and would suit the needs of the area we were addressing. It had been an eyesore for years and a constant weeding problem that we wanted a solution for. We will be using Jesus and his crew in the near future to address the front yard. Gilberto from JL got them all up and running in no time. The lawns and shrubs are finally green again. We also had Victor come and do some re-landscaping of my veggie & cutting gardens. He was so quick. The crew is super professional, friendly & polite and so efficient. They were a joy to work with.“
“Mike Hertzer and his team at Modern Landscaping recently completed a front and backyard installation for my husband and I at a newly built residence in Morgan Hill. Mike is truly a dedicated landscape professional. Mike was organized, on top of the job at all times, respectful and caring of his crew, and informed of the latest and best materials and techniques for the job. What's more, Mike is extremely knowledgeable about a wide range of plant material. He was very patient with my many questions; I learned a lot from him. He also had a great working relationship with our landscape designer who clearly respected Mike's expertise. Our site had several challenges that Mike easily handled, including poor drainage and poor soil quality. And although not an extremely large project, our design included several types of hardscape (Mike's crew did an absolutely beautiful job of cutting and laying a stone patio), multiple planting areas, two water fountains and a variety of other details. Mike didn't take shortcuts. Every step of the installation was done carefully. I especially appreciated Mike's attention to detail, such as building the AC enclosures in such a way they could be easily removed for future access. Or covering the openings into the underground drainage pipes with mesh so that leaves and other debris would not fall into them. Mike even provided extra parts for the irrigation system and provided me with an "as installed" diagram showing where the underground electrical and water lines were located - not just a paper copy, but a laminated one I could take outside. In short, Mike truly cares about the quality of work done under his name. I am so glad we chose Modern Landscaping to install our yard and would absolutely recommend them for any landscaping project.“

“We contacted Terra Rubina after seeing her signs in some very nice looking yards in our neighborhood. Juliana was (and still is) great to work with. We had an outdoor space that had to be completely reimagined - floor, fences, gates, planting etc. Juliana was extremely flexible in finding a solution that fit within our budget. Step by step we converted a previously non-usable area into an outdoor oasis that we are looking forward to fully taking advantage of this spring and summer. Juliana understood our needs to come up with a planting plan that is low maintenance. She was also always very honest on what investments make sense now vs. what we should first have 'grow' on us before we make further decisions. Juliana was also a great help as we discovered a leak in our watering system and she was able to quickly come by and fix it. We are looking forward to continuing to work with Juliana and her team as new needs come up.“
“There are not enough superlatives to describe the job Excellence Landscaping did to beautify our front yard. The few bushes we had were stressed by the drought, our expansive front lawn had died from the drought, and our driveway and walkway were old and cracked. We decided to do a complete make-over of our front yard and talked to three different landscape companies. We decided on Excellence Landscaping because they were very responsive, had great ideas for what could be done and were reasonably priced. Selecting Excellence Lanscaping proved to be the right decision. They constructed a very attractive retaining wall that has attracted the attention of neighbors, installed papers for our driveway and walkway, and prepared the yard for drought-resistant plantings, including gopher wire, weed screening, a drip irrigation system and decorative rock. What impressed us the most is Jose and Max were on-site working every day, along with 1-2 employees, and finished the job on time and without relying on subcontractors. “We contacted Peninsula Concrete to help switch out the old water meter box at the sidewalk and repaired the sidewalk back to initial stage. This includes cutting the existing sidewalk, removing the old box, and dropping in the new larger water meter box. Dennis and his team (family business) did that flawlessly. First, Dennis stopped by onsite to discuss the job scope, then followed by a quote the same day. We explained to Dennis that we need this job done ASAP. He is able to help by sending his team to perform the job within the next few days. Most importantly, he scheduled & passed the inspection the same day they perform the prep work, which is extremely efficient. And we got our final approval the week after. Adrianna from his team is also very helpful, by providing all the required paperworks for City permit application before we start the project. We highly recommend Peninsula Concrete for sidewalk or concrete services because they did a great job and they are very helpful and accommodating.“
