“My wife and I delayed doing "the major remodel" for years because we had heard all the horror stories. But the time had definitely come, and the perfect rental house fell into our laps in our neighborhood. So we decided to move forward and hired our architects. We were going to use a general contractor who had done some other remodels in our neighborhood. But our architects highly recommended Nick so we interviewed him as well. This was a major remodel, full kitchen with an addition, major structural changes throughout, full remodel of two bathrooms, a new deck and porch, new windows, in short, basically the works. From the first interview, it was evident that Nick knew what he was doing. He had thoughtful suggestions across the board and always provided a reasonable and pragmatic point of view. We decided to go with Nick, and it was the best decision we made. Nick managed to bring in our remodel on budget, on time, and with impeccable workmanship, all while dealing with the major obstacles of COVID19 and the shelter-in-place. It was quite incredible that he got it done. Nick is not overly dependent on subcontractors, and he knows how to line things up from a timing perspective and press those involved in the job so things run relatively smoothly and get done on time. At bottom, Nick is just a real pro, and I couldn't recommend him more highly. And to top it off, he is a good guy too!“

“Two preliminary notes: First, we are in central Marin (despite my out-of-date SoCal location). And, second, this is a long-overdue review, because Sam and his team remodeled our kitchen and master bedroom in late 2019 / early 2020. Sam certainly deserves a strong recommendation, and I also think this late post is a testament to how well his work has held up. We talked to a number of contractors before hiring Sam. He came across as the most genuine and honest, and we were very happy that the person he presented as when we talked to him was exactly who he was throughout our project. In addition to being a highly skilled builder (and carpenter), the thing we appreciated most about Sam was his integrity. We never once had any issue where we felt like he was trying to "get one over on us" (something we have heard about with many other contractors). If there was an area where the cost might go beyond the quote (something that happened shockingly infrequently, based on the horror stories we've heard about other contractors), he always flagged it well in advance, and it was always a genuine issue that seemed unforeseeable. Sam really earned our trust--so much so that we asked him to do a sliding door replacement a few months after the kitchen / bathroom work. He and his crew did a great job with that as well. I will follow up to this post in the near future with some pictures of the great work that Sam did on our kitchen and bathroom. But 1.5 years later, I'm happy to report that everything's in great shape and we've been loving the remodel. Sam has our high recommendation!“
