“Nibukikan is an excellent dojo. The kids look forward to attending class where they develop character, confidence, and physical fitness while learning self-defense, control, and respect. I love that Nibukikan is a non-profit organization. We feel like part of the family.“

Chico Kuk Sul Academy Martial Arts Schools

“I trained with Master Chuck Duran, and his brother Al Duran in the early 2000's. I started when I was 10 years of age, which at the time was rare as the school did not allow many youngsters to train due to the intensity and formality of the traditional style being offered. Many years later, the only things that have changed are inclusivity (all ages are welcome and taught to at their individual level), a nice new padded floor, and the skill level of Master Chuck. I cannot say enough about this man, and so will leave it to you to explore his genuine heart of kindness, and firm depth of knowledge and skill in this art. Let me be clear YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER INSTRUCTOR or a better school for that matter in the Chico area, or anywhere I've been, and I've lived all over the country and world. If you are seeking the magic you've known exists in the martial arts as part of the internal development of qi (energy) and how that cultivation actualizes in a master, you will not be disappointed. The power of internal qi cultivation is not to be downplayed, although, admittedly, it is very rare to actually find as an expression of a very functional martial art. If you are looking for more than a workout (although you will certainly get one), if you are a seeker that knows one must look inward in order to see anything outward, you have come to the right place. Welcome home.“
