I love Rosen Method Bodywork! I usually get Deep Tissue, Swedish, and Acupressure massage, but I wanted to try something different. This somatic modality is supposed to help to release patterns of holding tension in the body. Samveda's peaceful presence immediately put me at ease when she greeted me at the door. She explained that the session involved me being present to my body sensations and emotions and to articulate what I experienced in real time as a part of the process. Samveda's gentle touch was performed at a meditative pace which began calm my nervous system and allow me to be fully present to my body. The first thing I noticed was that when I was face down my jaw began to unwind, my sinuses opened and I could feel more pulsing of circulation in my abdomen. When I turned over on my back, I noticed that I was holding tension in my shoulder blade and diaphragm. With only the most gentle pressure by Samveda and my awareness, I could feel the stringy tense muscles and nerves awaken and relax. Then I began to feel my pectoral muscle nerve trigger when I brought my attention there. After a while, I began to realize how vulnerable I often feel when lying on my back. I had the insight arise that I sleep on my belly to protect myself; a posture that injures my neck. That led to a suppressed memory surfacing of a neck trauma I experienced in childhood which left me feeling frightened, confused, and ashamed. My eyes welled with tears as I brought loving awareness to my neck and shoulders, knowing how tight they usually are and feeling compassion for how they stored so much emotional pain. It felt like decades of trauma stored in my neck and shoulders were finally letting go. I experienced the session as a body meditation that melted away a great deal of physical and emotional armoring. I didn't realize I had "issues in my tissues" lol. I am in awe of the power of this subtle, yet mighty somatic approach. I have never had such a caring, safe, gentle touch from anyone. Samveda's intuitive, nurturing touch and angelic presence made the difference. When the session was over, she suggested that I take a walk in the neighborhood to ground, as I was a bit spacey. I highly recommend journaling about the experience as well. This modality puts you in charge of your healing so it is incredibly empowering! Samveda is a treasure. I am so glad to have found her and Rosen Method Bodywork!

Samveda started working with me during a serious illness two years ago and her work has been part of my healing. I could not walk and my body was sensitive in many areas. I needed a body worker/massage therapist I could trust, who would listen to me and my body. Samveda did all that and did it with professional ease. She has good boundaries and a practical and kind heart. I am deeply grateful that she stuck with me and assisted my body from illness to more and more health.
