I am now 37… you do that math ;) She’s been on every hairstyle journey with me and had supported me every step of the way— from perms to pixies… to bright blonde to color to choppy bobs… (I think we created a book at one point!). I mean she could do it all! Although Jan is always willing to achieve the hairstyle I have in mind, she also provides guidance and doesn’t hesitate to tell me if certain looks would fall short. I trust her expertise because Jan always knows what she’s doing. I never question it because she’s never let me down.Aside from her fantastic abilities, I go to Jan because she makes me feel welcome in her shop— a safe space. We don’t just talk about hair, we talk about everything under the sun. She’s like a second mom to me— always saying the right things when I need to vent or providing advice when I need it. “This is a small, one-person salon. Carla is there just part time and she is not easy to get ahold of. But let me tell you: this woman knows how to cut hair. I am picky about my hair which is naturally curly, less so as I get older, but regardless, where other stylists fight my curls, she knows how to work with them. I have always walked out of her door looking cuter and more put together than when I walked in. As I said, I am picky, picky, picky about my hair and who cuts it. I love Carla's haircuts. Experience builds skill and she has oodles of both.“
