Highly recommended for fostering discipline, confidence, and respect in children.“

We thought she was too young but decided to try out Kang's Sunrise Taekwando anyways after reading the reviews here on yelp. Over a year later we are going strong and my little girl loves it. I can say that I have definitely seen her grow in so many ways, most notably her confidence in her own abilities. Master Kang really does an excellent job facilitating a structured class that is fun and serious all at the same time. We can tell that she is trying her best, listening, and paying attention. I highly recommend!“

“I own a business in the same shopping center as this place. Tonight, one of my staff ran inside their studio because a couple of guys were catcalling and being sketchy while she was trying to lock up. Two of their staff dropped what they were doing and escorted her over to lock up and get to her car safely. It's one thing to train martial arts, and it's another to be willing to actually use it to defend someone. 5 stars in my book. Thanks guys!“
“This is a wonderful place to learn jiujitsu. The head instructor Freddy recently relocated and the facility is clean and spacious. Freddy teaches high level judo and jiujitsu and his team is very friendly. The mats are clean and the space is well lit, and well ventilated. I highly recommend this place for jiujitsu enthusiasts.“

5019 Encinita Ave, Temple City“My child has been practicing here for about a little more than a year now. He really likes it there. The place is very clean, the mats are being clean before and after practice. The instructors are very dedicated, friendly and patient. They don't just teach you karate moves but also self discipline and the importance of training hard on a consistent basis. Even during the pandemic, the practice did not stop, it was moved to zoom. They recently reopened the dojo so they have in person practice again once a week and still maintained the social distance between each student and followed the CDC guidelines so I felt safe sending my child there. They also have tournaments, seminars and special classes with other JKA dojos in US or Japan so it's definitely a great experience for the students.“

Muito Tempo is super flexible and cool about this kind of thing. The classes are fun and have a wonderful vibe to them. I have always been a huge fan of Capoeira and was thrilled to find one in Pasadena! The prices are super reasonable, the classes are very diverse and the vibe is awesome! I highly recommend. We can't wait to go back one day! I only wish the adult beginner's classes worked with my schedule better because I would love to take classes here as well!“

“My son started here when he was 6 years old. 2 years later, I've started and my 5 year old just started as well. Sensei Lucian is a fantastic teacher, and my children have a great time while learning about focus, coordination, defense, and all while having a blast. As an adult starting up, I've loved the vibe in the adult classes. Everyone is fun, respectful, and we get great workouts while learning self-defense! Highly recommended for kids AND adults!“

“Mr Chavies is the true essence of "the Master". It's been some years now since I was a student of his. Yet the lessons he taught me are ongoing. Many of the days training under the touch of a "Master's hand" were harder than anything else I have experienced, with a few times in tears. I understand now it is because I cared so much, for his attention and approval. I received much attention {lots of push-ups} and occasionally, approval. If I were training with Mr. Chavies now, I know I would care just as much trying as hard as I ever did. However, I would not receive as much attention or approval. Now I understand. That is " the touch of a Master's hand ". For which I will be eternally grateful. You see, everyday my life is more beautiful than I could of imagined, when I set down my hammer and picked up a brush. I love things deeply. I have moments of true peace. Thank you Sir with all my heart. .“

260 E Taylor St, Monrovia“Kru Walter and the coaches (Wilson / Lynn / Machete) are great. I've been with this gym for over a month and my stamina has improved tremendously. I am more confident in my kicks and combos now than ever before ( no prior martial art experience). The staff is very supportive of adjusting your body stances and techniques. They provide great insight on setting up your body for seamless combos. They really push you to your limit but don't berate you. It's this attitude (along with other students attitudes) that give a safe environment to step in as a beginner and excel with no judgments.Although there are no belts to obtain to showcase your "experience", the ultimate way to show your results is by how fluid your combos and techniques are, how quick your body resets after blocking to return the attack. That in itself is something you will always take with you.Update: Coach Lynn is a current two belt Champion.“
