“As life races past us, a business trip my wife and I had arrived on the calendar sooner than we anticipated. We called our usual kennel, but they were booked solid. I did some looking around for another kennel with high ratings, and came across Dog Over Breed. They were kind enough to return my call promptly, and said they would have to "vet" my older dog for temperament and ability to listen. This was for her and the other dogs safety. They quickly gave us the thumbs up, we booked the girls that day and left for our trip. Fast forward a few days; and my in-laws, who were set to pick them up, were unable to at the scheduled time. DOB were able to hold on to the girls until my in-laws were able to pick them up. Obviously for an upcharge, but at the standard daily rate.We had them groomed by DOB, and I'm very tempted to even change my groomer to Dog Over Breed. They both came back to us as beautiful as ever.Highly recommended, and will board/groom our dogs there again.“

“Everytime we need to leave town we board my dog with wood day care. The staff is great with sending photos and text messages if they have questions. The facility is spacious and they separate large from big dogs. Great place to board your fur baby.“

“Donnelly is a fantastic dog trainer, and the team at Flexible Pet Solutions have been a lifesaver. We have worked with her 1-on-1, have regularly attended the drop-in puppy socialization classes, and also enrolled in one of her specialized (trick training) courses. She does a really good job building a community among the dogs (and their humans) that work with her and we plan to stay in her circle throughout our dog's various life phases.“

“I have 3 small dogs that bark/jump/get excited at everything. After my session today, I am excited to see our progress. Janice is very easy to work with and you can tell she genuinely cares. The suggestions she made were very helpful and I already feel less stressed out knowing our training plan.“

“We have had 5 sessions with Patti and she has helped us so much! It can be overwhelming looking for a dog trainer - Patti came highly recommended by a good friend . We adopted a 3 month old rescue pup - an American Staffordshire last summer. We watched all the dog training shows, read about dog training and thought we were doing all the "right" things. At 9 months old, our dog Guapo started getting more reactive and aggressive at dog parks - what we thought was just "playing rough" actually was him not knowing how to play correctly and respect boundaries. There were a few incidents where he just wouldn't let go of the other dog. Even after the 1st training session, we saw a difference - Patty gave us a set of rules to "take back our house" and set boundaries (i.e. dog can't go in our bedroom, he eats last, etc). We then worked on impulse control, heel, and distractions. What we found most helpful is how Patti explains dog psychology and trauma that dogs experience. She even send instructions after sessions so you know what to work on in between sessions. I learned how to be a pack leader, set boundaries, and discipline which Guapo desparately needed! At the root of it all Guapo, being a rescue dog, just needed to feel safe and secure - and giving him boundaries and instructions is how he feels safe. It was money well spent and we learned so much. It's the best decision we have made as dog parents.“

“This review is for the puppy 1 and puppy 2 classes at Walnut Creek pet food express taught by Keri. We signed up our shepherd mix puppy for Puppy 1 class and we were very impressed by the teaching tactics and results that we got for our dog. Keri was friendly and very knowledgeable and was a great trainer for both my husband and I as well as our puppy. We signed up for the second class level soon after completing the first. Our dog just graduated puppy 2 and I wanted to write a glowing review for both Keri and the pet food express staff. I highly recommend spending the money to making your dog better for life!“

“This was my first time using a mobile groomer and I cannot believe I hadn't used one sooner. His last groomer asked that I didn't bring him back as he was a bad boy while he was getting his nails done. I did inform Paul the owner of the company of this when on the phone and he reassured me that it wouldn't be a problem. Paul the owner of the company came out to groom my boy Leopold and I must say I was quite nervous as Leopold doesn't normally warm up to people, men in particular. When I opened the door, you would have thought they had known each other for years. His tail was wagging and Paul knelt down for a bathing of kisses. Paul took the time to go over all my concerns and he took Leo off for his grooming. When they returned Leo's tail was still wagging and he looked great. His coat has never felt so soft and he smelt great. Paul told me he was a joy to groom and he would be more than happy to come back to groom him anytime. I highly recommend On The Spot Pet Grooming and I could tell Paul really enjoys and knowledgeable about dogs. I did also like that he quoted me a price on the phone and there were no hidden add-ons once he came and took care of Leo. I know Leo has found his lifetime groomer.“

“Our German Shepherd Doggy, Bamboo, had a wonderful experience with Keri at the Bishop Drive location. He learned so much and even got a few new girlfriends in the process. We started with Puppy School 1 and will continue next week with Puppy School 2. Ian Dunbar, the founder of Sirius Puppy and Dog Training, trained our 1st German Shepherd Doggy, Bruno, 30 years ago. His method of positive reinforcement is THE most effective training method, bar none. Ian also consulted with us when we purchased a 7.5 month old pedigreed GSD, Red Buttons, who was not socialized. In no time, Red Buttons responded to the training and lived out a 13-year wonderful life with lots of travel, socializing with both people and other dogs. All of the instructors that we have come in contact with at Sirius make dogs a number 1 priority in their lives. It was obvious to us that Keri really liked Bamboo and really enjoyed her job. She had lots of great ideas about training and was never too busy to help me with specific needs we had. We would never go anywhere but Sirius!!“

“I'm so pleased to be able to update this review from 2010. How time flies! Our dear Penny whom Shasta helped us with back then passed away in 2015. We started working with Shasta again in 2017 when we got our new pup, a border collie rescue. He came to us emaciated and poorly socialized, needing love and positive experiences to bring him out of his shell. Shasta gave us much-needed training advice, and from there her staff started walking Hugo on group walks, which he's done once a week since 2018. He enjoys these walks so much; they provide wonderful socialization experiences. All the treats and training in the world can get a dog so far, but a strong adult with a great pack really helps with confidence-building and calm. Hugo walks with Toni, who send us pictures of him each week with his crew. I can tell that Hugo is happy with Toni and his pack: as we release him to the car (to maintain social distancing), our pup who usually does not like to leave my side will happy run down the stairs to greet him and hop in the car! Shasta also runs Puptown for boarding. We've only needed this service once, but having been in there and knowing Shasta for so many years, I know that this would be a great resource as well. It has been a pleasure seeing Shasta grow this business for over a decade, and watch it continue to provide the same excellent service it did in the beginning. If you need training support, especially with difficult dogs, a weekly walking group, or more, Bow Wow is a great choice. Review from 2010 I love Shasta. She has walked our dog for well over a year. She been amazing. We have worked with four dog walking companies, and Shasta is a cut above. As a handler, Shasta knows dogs and dog behavior. We switched to her when we were having some behavioral problems with our dog at home, especially after walks. Shasta worked closely with Penny and we've seen huge improvements in her behavior. Last year our dog needed surgery; Shasta worked with us on her rehab, and continues to be conservative with her play to ensure that she stays strong. As a business person, Shasta has been great. She handled our initial interview, paperwork, and invoicing professionally. We LOVE her daily dog walk "reports"--these little report cards let us know how our dog was feeling, what she did, and (sorry for the detail) even if and how she pooped! Who could ask for more? Our dog loves Shasta, responds well to her, and behaves well at home after a walk with her. That's what matters most.“

“Our dog has been boarded at Dog Balancing owned by Terry twice now, each time for over 2 weeks. We couldn't be happier with the experience and will continue boarding our dog with Terry and are grateful for Terry providing great care to our dog and sharing with us science-backed evidence and advice for dog care 1. Communicating and coordinating with Terry is super easy and straightforward. With years in dog care business, Terry has established a routine that works for everyone and he does leave room for the unexpected and give you enough flexibility 2. Terry takes really nice mugshots of all the dogs and posts on the dog balancing Facebook page here: facebook.com/p/Dog-Balan… so you get to see your baby when you are away (not daily posts, but honestly, you don't want to leave your baby at a place that you had to check on him/her all the time)3. Terry regularly posts scientific papers and educational reads about dog care on the Facebook page. We find this information incredibly useful and have implemented some changes into our dog's daily routine. Terry's extensive experience as a certified dog trainer and behaviorist shines through. 4. Dog care is getting really expensive and unaffordable in the Bay Area. Terry, with years of experience in the business and presumably many returning customers, could have asked for higher rates, but that is not the case. In fact, Terry has kept the rate very reasonable. This is a huge relief for us since we typically had to board our dog for a longer period of time (typically 3-4 weeks) when visiting extended families oversees, which means the rates accumulate quickly to an amount that you start regretting having a dog. We were so happy and again relieved that our dog can stay at a comfortable, safe and affordable place without the stress of traveling. 5. Most importantly, our dog has always returned from Terry's place happy and unchanged, which reassures us of the excellent care provided. Note for dog parents concerned about crates: We have seen a couple of dog trainers as our dog grow up - they all told us the same thing - a crate is and should be used as a safe place for dogs. Terry does call that out before boarding to make sure you and your dog are comfortable with the dog staying in a crate when they are not active“

“We highly recommend Walk Train Love. Prior to training, our dog was scared of everything. From typical things like garbage trucks to more unusual things like her own big floppy ears flapping in the wind, our pup navigated life riddled with anxiety. Hilly instilled confidence in our dog and just as importantly, empowered us as pet parents to guide our pup through life. No longer a puppy, our dog now exudes happiness and joy on walks, both on leash and off leash! She's still a lovable goofball, but with Hilly's training and guidance, she can now focus on being a goofy pup obsessed with her hooman siblings instead of anxiety!“

“We had been planning a trip of a lifetime - 7 weeks abroad - and one of the most important things was also one of the hardest things to do and that was to ensure our 1-year old sibling cats, Daisy & Spunky, would be in a secure and caring environment while we were away from home.We found there are many places that board cats in “2’Wx2D’x2H’” stainless steel kennels with 1 or possibly 2 hours of daily “out of the kennel” play time. Although they may be clean and secure, that type of a “confined” environment would have been difficult for our cats to endure even if just for a weekend (especially for Spunky who is very sociable and inquisitive); 7 weeks would have been grueling for them. They would probably be wondering, “what did we do to be abandoned like this?”.Thank goodness we found Pam & Critter Pet Care! The design of the cat house is wonderful and the size and multi-level layout of the kennels, some of which could also be expanded to double wide for bonded pairs like ours, allows cats to “hunker in” and feel secluded, or to peek out through their window for watching birds at the bird feeders outdoors. Cats also get to explore and commingle or just chill in the common areas, or they can trek/jump up to the many perches mounted high along the walls of the cat house. We missed our cats to pieces but really appreciated how Pam automatically kept us updated with photos and info about what they were doing throughout our 7-week trip. It gave us great peace of mind and our reunion confirmed how well they were cared for during their stay. We will not hesitate to leave our beloved Daisy and Spunky in Pam’s care the next time we plan a vacation or require boarding services. Thank you very much, Pam, for providing such an important service, a cozy and engaging boarding environment, and for truly caring about the well-being of our pets. . . you’re the best!“

“By far the best vet we’ve ever been to. The entire staff is so friendly, accommodating, and compassionate when we bring our dogs in. Their approach not only provides the best care for the animals, but also gives the most peace of mind to the people. We will be bringing our dogs, and future dogs, to Oasis for many years to come.“

“This is only for the service of needing to put my dog down as that's the only time I used them. Everyone was compassionate and appreciate that after the front desk knew why I was there let me go directly to the exam room rather than sit in the lobby. They explained what was going on and let me stay with him.“
