About Journey Martial Arts
Journey Martial Arts is a family-friendly martial arts and fitness training center that offers a range of programs for individuals of all ages. With over 20 years of experience, founder Virginia DeYoung has created a welcoming and supportive environment where students can learn valuable skills, build confidence, and develop social and emotional skills. The studio emphasizes the importance of values and virtues, and instructors like Virginia care deeply about each student, providing personalized attention and encouragement. The center also hosts community events and offers a premium birthday party venue, which provides a hassle-free and enjoyable experience for kids and parents alike. With its focus on joy, mindfulness, and teamwork, Journey Martial Arts is a gem in the community, offering something for everyone. The staff here are excellent and caring. Really like how the early age group has weekly topics like respect, focus, and manners. It’s a great class to help develop listening, socialization, and teamwork—all in a fun environment. If you have kids who need to burn off energy, this is the perfect place to go! Virginia and the rest of the martial arts teachers are so welcoming and friendly. They also have all of the material on an app so you can study at home. The kickboxing class is a great workout and Miss Virginia is very encouraging yet adaptable to people’s fitness levels. We held my son’s 6th birthday party at Journey Martial Arts. Everything about it was seamless. Ms. Virginia was so helpful ensuring everything was prepared and ready. Ms. Virginia and Mr. Jim were so good with the large group of young kids! They kept them active and busy.
This is a great place to get kids engaged into martial arts. The instructors are friendly but they remain focused on the importance of the discipline.
My son absolutely loves it here. He’s made so much progress. The instructors are very friendly and patient and work with the kids
Journey Martial Arts is such a wonderful dojo. My son has learned so many practices and mental habits. He has learned control, diligence, and so much self esteem. He always enjoys coming and is always looking forward to the next class.
