We had two dark matte finish vanities installed into our new home and are very disappointed with the product. They stain and discolor with plain water spots. They require cleaning with mild cleanser after every use in order to look OK. When I brought this to their attention, they didn't offer any remedies, said they have never had a complaint, and basically said "too bad, so sad." One of them also scratched very easily although I don't know how it occurred because it happened when my very first guest stayed with us, and she is very careful.
