VA facilities can be really hit or miss. Tend to be much worse the more loaded they are with vets. Denver being the worse that I’ve experienced. Twin ports being a smaller clinic I feel exceeds expectations when it comes to helping and caring for vets. If you are looking for a doctor, Dr. Schoenecker is an absolute rockstar. Everyone that I have interacted with in optometry, labs and mental health has been friendly and really do show that they care. Also, if you like gunsmoke or similar black and white westerns, you are in luck because that’s all that they ever play in the waiting room.

If you want to experience true degradation - go to a VA clinic in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas. This VA is "Club Med" compared to many. Connect to MyHealthVet through the VA online - Fast messaging, fast prescriptions, fast appointments. If you don't like being connected to the Mpls VA just to speak to the TPC, then ask the receptionist or one of the appointment specialists for their direct number and they will happily share. 8)

The staff at the Twin Ports VA are incredible, I don't think they get the credit they deserve! Been in the system for over 20 years and think they go above and beyond to help the vets. Thank you all!
