“Dave offered a very professionally kept and clean space where he operates as the sole artist within his shop - He ensures a clear yet noninvasive line of communication has been had about health and safety prior to creating his art, and takes plenty of time with the clients to be sure he's got their ideal vision down.Although I cannot say he does this EVERY TIME, I know that often he schedules a single client within a single day and no more to ensure that there is plenty of space for discussion, drawing, and the creation itself.Once all is said and done, Dave will go over basic healing expectations that other shops may not (such as over-hydrating and Adhesive Allergies!)If you consent to it and send a photo in later he is always proud to show his work, and see it's final (healed) product... The check in for how things are healing is my favorite, you can tell this is a space looking to progress, learn, and inspire.I watched Dave of Hand Eye Tattoo navigate through the pandemic and come out the other head with healthy and protected clients, his shop and expertise quickly became a novelty go-to suggestion I provide to the Wisconsin Traveler.*I would like to edit and add that the original Colored Pencil drawing was a draft from my childhood, I then brought it to Dave and asked he reworked it with me to fit the vision in my head... The black and white is his creation, and the full color is pictured on my skin. I'm so proud of how this turned out! Requested style: I came in with art commissioned from a separate artist and the style was so spot on it was like Janelle was able to photocopy the piece onto my skin! I’ve had nothing but compliments on her work and adherence to the subject matter.

Cleanliness: Well maintained workspaces and regular changing of gloves and cleaning of surfaces. The open space of the studio lends itself to having sterile seating spaces while allowing the visible personality of the artists to thrive in the periphery.“

“My wife and I got matching tattoos. We walked in with a rough idea of what we wanted. I sketched the design and Reyes cleaned it up. This was my first tattoo. Reyes did a great job explaining the process and making sure I was doing well. After my tattoo, Reyes immediately started on my wife's tattoo. The whole process from my sketching to both tattoos completed was an hour. I am very impressed with Reyes and definitely recommend him. We love our tattoos!

Requested style: Infinity symbol with our initials in runes on the undersides of our wrists. We used two colors, which turned out amazing.

Cleanliness: The entire place was clean. The booth was pretty full, but everything was put away and clean.
