Our 20 year old GE refrigerator was not cooling the frij side although the freezer fan was blowing and the temp control was on 8 and 9. After watching several YouTube videos and reading some articles I took off the back panel in the freezer and discovered the freezer coils were chock a block with ice which meant that the defrost was not working. Further research told me to pour hot water on the coils to remove the ice build up and plug it back in. When I did the temp control panel did not light up but the lights were on inside. Again, YouTube said it was the mother board in the back that needed replacing and I could have done it myself. Problem was we had a dryer that stopped working and an old GE dishwasher that hadn’t been working since February so I decided to get it all done by calling Mario who was recommended to me by Automatic Appliance here in Chicago. I called Mario and he said he could be here by the afternoon. He showed up at the time he said he would with his assistant both wearing masks and even asked if he needed to remove his shoes. His deduction after reviewing everything was that it was the mother board which he replaced. He plugged it in and the frij and freezer fan turned on. He then checked the dryer and found the pin/switch in the door had been broken so he replaced that. As far as our dishwasher, we had already researched the quietest one to get which was a Bosch 800 but he said the high end ones you pay extra for bells and whistles. He recommended the best one to get was a 300 or 500 series which we‘ll now order. All in all he came on time, was fast and efficient and not majorly pricey. A good appliance repair person you can really rely on!
