I have gone to Hersolf for years. It's a family thing my mom started. God rest her soul. I had my appointment last week. Had a wonderful experience, considering I had to park around the corner. I am a 45-year-old woman who walks with 2 canes until I get both hips replaced so I don't move very fast at all. I was hurting pretty bad today, but I had to take my 12-Year-old for her eye exam. I sat and picked up my glasses which were ready way faster than I expected. Once she was called back for her exam, I didn't realize I needed to go into the little room with her. She came back and got me. I said in a jokingly manner as I was crippling on back there "if he doesn't speak to me, I'm going to be mad." I honestly didn't think what was about to happen was going to happen. Everyone there is usually very nice. If they are not laughing when I come in, they will be by the time I leave. That's the type of personality i have. The happy to be alive personality. I made it to the room and sat down. We had a mix-up with our info last time, so he stepped out the room to clear it up, basically wanted to make sure he had the right person in his chair which is understandable. He came back into the room, sat down, wrote some stuff on the paper in her chart and started the exam. I'm not a rude person so I didn't interrupt him to say hello while he was taking care of that. I was waiting. Unfortunately, when he got done writing he turned around and started the exam. He basically didn't even acknowledge me. I looked at him the whole time waiting, just waiting for him to say hello and he didn't say not 2 words to me. Once he got her prescription together you would think he would have talked to me about her prescription and how it didn't change much, but no he turned his back to me to explain it to the child. That's how I noticed the back pocket of his pants was hanging out. He sat back down; I was still looking at him waiting for a hello I'm Dr. Whoever, still nothing. I got up and proceeded to walk out but not before expressing to him that his bed side manner sucked. How he had me come in the room and then not say anything to me. Of course, he got offended. First it was he don't like being judged. He said that because I told him I stared at him the whole appointment waiting for him to speak. Then he said He forgot to speak. I told him you didn't forget to speak, you're the one who had her to come get me. Then he said I'm not here to see you I'm here to see her. Well boom, there goes the real reason. He felt like he didn't need to speak. I was a nobody to him. I unfortunately wasn't raised that way. You're supposed to speak to people. So, I told him you didn't speak to me on purpose, and you haven't been speaking to people all morning because if you had, somebody would have told you that your back pocket is hanging out sir. I usually don't repeat myself but this time it was warranted. So, I told him again your bedside manner sucks, you didn't speak to me, and haven't spoken to anybody else either or someone would have told you your back pocket is hanging out. Your bedside manner sucks and I don't care what you say. That rude doctor name is Dr. Monte and from now on when I make my appointments, I will be sure to find out if he's going to be there on that day. That is one person who I don't even care to share the air with. I dare not say he racist because he was very good with My daughter during the exam. However, that is his job. I just don't understand how a person who works with the public can be so dismissing of a human being. when I tell you he made me feel like I was a piece of furniture that didn't compliment a room. Why did I even need to go back there as a parent/guardian if he wasn't going to treat me like one.
I decided to give this place a try, and i'm real glad i did, its a great office, but have a small staff. The Doctor gives personalized Vision care he listened to my concerns, and did important things i feel my previous Eye Doctor missed. Mauline deserves it she's super helpful she goes above and beyond with her job duties. I highly recommend.
