“I first came to Avenue Dental in a very serious health crisis. I had a tooth infection, and another illness had also inflamed my nerves so badly I was in terrible daily pain. I had briefly met Dr. Bittar at another clinic before he came to Avenue Dental, and I was very impressed with his work. I was in total desperation, as my other dentist had missed the tooth infection and also did not seem to understand my pain. It was an answer to prayer that I found out Dr. Bittar was in network for my insurance. The long drive was well worth it. From day one his approach was to treat me, the patient, not just my teeth. It took months of work, but finally my pain is starting to get better.

Dr Bittar and his assistant, Dakota, went above and beyond to help me. Unfortunately I had to call Dakota early one Saturday morning with emergency level pain; she quickly returned my call and got me in as soon as possible. Dr. Bittar also called me a number of times between patients to see how my pain level was and to encourage me that he was committed to getting me healthy no matter how long it took. I also want to thank the receptionists, who had to schedule and re-schedule many appointments to get my crisis under control.

There are many dentists who are experts in their field. But to have that expertise AND have the genuine compassion and care that I found at Avenue Dental, that is something that just can’t be taught. I will always be grateful to Dr Bittar and Dakota for helping me through the toughest time I’ve ever gone through in my life.“

“Yes, there is a wait as the clinic is free. I always block in 2.5 hours just in case it takes that long, but typically I'm out within 1-1.5 hours. Nurses have been pleasant and friendly and I never feel like they are rushing me. Desk staff is busy but have always answered my questions when I had any. “Due to COVID, you aren't currently allowed to bring guests with you to appointments so I had mine waiting in the car. I got checked in and the receptionist let me know they were running a bit behind and I would have an additional 20-30 minute wait. That was fine and I appreciated knowing ahead of time. I was able to have my guest leave and go do things in the meantime while I waited. For my appointment I had Mel (clinic manager) as my main contact. He went through my concerns and general health questions first and we chatted about mutual interest. He's super caring and outgoing and made me feel very comfortable and safe. I had at one point mentioned I faint easily with blood and he remembered that for later on. When the nurse practitioner came in, she was a little rushed because she was the only one there for the lunch hour and still running a little behind, but she took good care of me, explained several different issues and fixes, and also was helpful with current events. She noted there's a 300% increase in syphilis in our area and asked if I wanted to be checked for that just in case. That test is a blood draw, so her and Mel both came in for it. He held my hand and chatted me up to keep me distracted and she quickly got my blood on the first try. Afterwards Mel gave me a Kool Aid and waited until I was okay to stand. I also needed care, so they gave me the medication before I even left and a call with results in 7-10 days. I've noticed some older reviews that are more negative, but this clinic has totally turned a corner and I think Mel has done a great job making it a wonderful location for care!“

They are genuinely concerned about their patients and in making the dreaded doctor visit as comfortable as possible. Highly recommend Dr. Spiedel. The receptionist at check in was very nice too .“
