I have Quartz insurance. I went to see Dr Bautista on November 2, 2022 for my checkup. I checked in and was told I did not have a copay because Quartz has a wellness visit once a year with no copay. They turned around and sent me a bill for my copay. I called and questioned this and was told that Bautista had put down multiple items so it was coded as being 2 visits. I had no concerns at this time, just answered multiple questions he asked me. They have the right to do this according to Quartz and Mercy health. They can charge as many copays as they see fit. As expensive as health care is and to be charged double? What a scam!
I was there today so I could drive my son home after a procedure. There was a young mother with her 2 children, maybe 7 years old & probably around 10 months old. After the young child was taken back, the receptionist told the mother to take her baby out to the hallway because she was too loud. The baby wasn't crying, screaming or anything, she was saying da da. that was it. The receptionist was so rude to the mother. Try telling the couple speaking Spanish so loud you would think they were in a tavern, or the guy playing a movie on his phone with swearing and yelling to turn it down. I was flabbergasted at how this mother was treated because her baby was jabbering. But I'm not surprised, they hire some of the rudest receptionist I have ever met
This place is a total racket. Not in the business of providing care, they are in the business of sneaky, dishonest and unethical billing practices. Avoid this institution at all costs. Stay healthy and avoid these people. I have never dealt with a more dishonest, disreputable insurance outfit disguised as a health facility. Total con-artists. Make sure you ask them how much every single procedure will cost before you agree to it or you will wake up with a big surprise. If you have Mercy Health Insurance, do not expect them to be honest or pay the bill. You should expect endless inaccurate billing statements, be prepared to spend hours on the phone trying to get them to cover costs you already thought were covered by your plan. Oh, and if you purchased a particular plan from them, don't expect it to be the same plan later. They will change your deductible without informing you and they will change your co-pay without informing you.
