“The vet is very patient and thurough. You can see the staff love what they do and care about our pets.“
“This vet helped save our dog’s life. After hours on a Friday night I couldn’t get in touch with our vet in Dubuque, which supposedly offers 24 hour emergency care, after my dog choked on a toy and stopped breathing. My husband gave her the heimlich, got her breathing, but the toy was still stuck in there and she was still clearly in distress, barely breathing, coughing up bloody foam.We called vet after vet in Dubuque, and even ones that said they offered 24 hour emergency care, only had an answering service out of state, and none of them connected us to the actual vet, including our own.As a last ditch effort, I started calling vets in the surrounding smaller towns. None of them answered. Just when I thought I’d have to watch my dog die painfully in front of me the on call doctor answered the phone at Veterinary Associates-Galena. She was the only vet in the tristate area to do so.We told her what was happening, and even though we weren’t her current client, she told us to bring our dog in and she’d meet us there. From the very beginning her and her associate treated us with compassion, care, and pure kindness. You can tell they truly care. Thank you doesn’t feel strong enough, but we’ll say it anyway a thousand times over.Even though we live in Dubuque we will now be taking our dogs and cat to Veterinary Associates in Galena. Thank you again for everything you did that night, and for being such compassionate people.“
“Absolutely wonderful. We came to this place after having a horrible experience at our old vets office. They care for your animals as if they are their own. I highly recommend this place.“
