My wife and I honeymooned here in January, and the place is amazing! It is right in the middle of many great hiking and ski trails in Northern Minnesota, and the properties facing Lake Superior have breathtaking views. Additionally, we found the activities and rentals very helpful, and the restaurants on campus are great places to eat. We will certainly be back to celebrate one of our anniversaries!
My Fall visit to Bluefin was a much needed anticipated trip, one of many I take every year to Bluefin. My Hillside Guest room was exactly what I expected it to be. Weather was pretty fair though one day a good, stiff wind blew from the East and created some great wave action. The staff from the front desk to The Bluefin Grille were personable, knowledgeable and friendly...even the annoying bartender at night who kept addressing me as Senor (though he pronounced it SEEN YOR)...All in all, a great week was had.
We stayed here 1 night to celebrate our 32nd anniversary. We stayed in the Grand Superior Master Suite. It was perfect!! The view was amazing, the fireplace was wood burning which was awesome, and you could still see the beautiful view from the jacuzzi. There was a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room to help us celebrate. Nice touch!! Plenty of firewood right outside the door so we were able to keep the fire burning most of the night. The Coho Café was literally 50 steps outside our door so we didn't need to drive anywhere for food. There was a liquor/grocery store right across the street. I can't say enough good things about this place. We usually stay somewhere closer to Duluth but this was certainly worth the drive! We can't wait to go back for a longer stay!
