We've had Poehls Tree Service take down trees on two occasions: the first in the of summer 2023 and the second in August 2025. As I write this, we're a day after the second experience. Honestly, we're in mourning. We liked our ash tree. We loved the shade it created (if less recently). But, we also didn't want the three-quarters-dead tree falling on our house. Justus and his team did a expert job for a fair price. The yard was left spotless. They were careful when they used their equipment on our yard. Excellent experience!!! Justus and his crew removed multiple ash trees with care and precision. The cost was significantly less than a quote I received from a larger company. Justus answered all my questions with knowledge and respect. And the entire area was left tidier than it was before they arrived. I could not recommend Poehls Tree Service more highly.

In 2023, they quickly and professionally removed large, hard-to-reach branches from our locust tree hanging over the deck and roof. Fast, safe, and great to work with.
This year, I got multiple quotes to remove the entire tree—Poehls had the best price but was booked out a month. I ended up going with someone else who was going to charge me $100 less and would get it down that same weekend. Big mistake.
The team I hired over Poehls Tree Service damaged our deck, roof, fence, and even hit our nearby maple tree. It’s now day 5, the job isn’t done, and he tried to ask for more money.
