Zammie is an awesome barber. My sons, who are in their 40s, went to him many years back and today he cut two of my grandsons’ hair. There is a special way of cutting men's hair with a clipper and a comb in which you lift the hair up from underneath with the comb, then run the clippers across the hair tips with the clippers. It is just as good as using scissors, and usually better and faster if you do it right. This is completely different from putting on a clipper attachment and running it all over your hair. Zammie not only has mastered this "clipper style," he has trained stylists all over the State of Washington to do this. Few do it well. He once made the news for being the premier barber in the region that customers would flock to so they could get the famous "Boz" haircut using the clippers. The very best clipper cut in the State, and he only charges $9.00! I have literally "tried them all" but I am coming back to Yakima in July and I will definitely stop in at "Zammie's". He didn't have to. I have been going to him since he was cutting at the Skookum Barber Shop in front of the Skookum Bowling Alley, and that was back in the 1960's. Military and Senior discounts apply here. It is by appointment, but you can always take your chances and drop in here and still get a cut most of the time.
