One of the best parts about this dog park is the trail section, which is against the hill to the north of the two main off-leash areas. The trail section traverses the hillside through a wooded area and doggies love to cruise the terrain. The other great feature of this complex is that it's huge! This is a gem of the Tacoma parks system.
Of all the parks D.O.G. & I visited while in Tacoma, Wapato was 2nd-best next to Point Defiance.Dog-friendliness: There's a lower- & upper-playground for all dogs to enjoy, big & small. Trails, paths & elevations to ascend with your doggo leading the way.
Huge dog park that is completely fenced in. Lots of trails and trees for pups to explore. There is also a large flat, partly grassy area to play, chase, and fetch.Even after some heavy rain, it didn't seem too muddy.Parking can be limited in this particular area, so you may want to park near the big park and walk over.Restrooms: Didn't see any restrooms or portas.
