When I was looking for OB care, a couple of friends had recommended NWWHC, but I was hesitant after reading all the Google reviews about how hard it was to reach them by phone. Nevertheless, I decided to seek care there, and I'm glad I did! I never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to get through the phone line. And, once you establish care, there's an online messaging system to get in touch with nurses/your doctor. My messages were typically replied to within a day. Most importantly, my doctor, Dr. Kapnadak, was great--compassionate, pragmatic, and approachable. I was in good hands during my time there.
I've been seeing 2 doctors at NW Women's Health so far for that past 9 months. From my experience, there is a chaos in returning the lab results to the patient. I did a urine test 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything from them yet. When I call them, they usually don't know what's going on! One of them said that "since you have done it today (!!!), it'll gonna take a few days to culture"!! When I told them I did it 3 weeks ago, they had no idea! Also they are very slow in returning prenatal screening and genetic testing. Patients pays hundreds of dollars for those tests and it's not acceptable to make patients wait longer than expected for the doctor/nurse to sign off the results. I had another experience with SRM for 3 months and they were super organized and on-time, avoided unnecessary calls, and tried to do everything via the quick and efficient messaging system. When I compare my experiences at SRM and NW, sometimes I get disappointed at the quality of care at NW.
So far I have been pleased with the medical care I've received at NWWH so far (though I've been a patient for just over 2 months so TBD). However, upon calling the front desk it takes 20 (sometimes 30) minutes to speak to a receptionist. So whenever you need to schedule a new appointment, reschedule an existing appointment, or just ask to speak to a nurse or MA - you have to wait around and listen to their on-hold playback music for what feels like eternity. When I visited NWWH recently (and knowing this was an issue), I observed the 4-5 front desk team, and was shocked by how few of them were actually answering phone calls/on the phone. Many of them appeared to be chatting amongst themselves. When will this be resolved? When I was a patient at Seattle OBGYN , I was always able to speak to a receptionist directly within just 1-2 minutes and with no delay or issues.
