Bought some cherry boards to make a window frame. Friendly and helpful staff - even though I made a very small purchase compared to the people building full houses, they took their time and gave great advice. They don't have a "retail showroom" where you can look at and select boards, since they are primarily a wholesaler. They bring out a stack via forklift and you choose boards and they take the rest away.

Great place. Helpful workers. But you do have to know what you're talking about or you'll really waste their time. Not for the casual shopper rolling in to check things out

I'm only a hobbyist woodworker, but from my perspective, AWI offers a massive selection of wood products at competitive prices. Every person I've met in the office or in the warehouse has been nothing but helpful and friendly.
