My only regret was not having these guys do the job in the first place! I had a relatively straightforward, though large job to run appropriately sized gas lines to my deck for grilling, griddling, and an additional line to the kitchen for a future range top. I was in a rush to get the job done so I accepted the second quote from a plumber that I got--big mistake. The installation was terrible, not properly sized, pipe was inadequately painted, and to top it off there were numerous leaks (big yikes!). Puget Sound Gas Works to the rescue. They had a bid that was actually the lowest out of all of them (because they are extremely efficient at what they do), but I could tell right away that they knew exactly what they were doing. Even showed me a copy of the code they had in the truck to show how galvanized is allowed for exterior gas pipe. These guys were here on time one week after accepting the quote and ripped out the previous work and completed everything within the day. After the inspection and permit they were back out to do the hookups. Excellent all around and couldn't be happier with Puget Sound Gas Works. Bottom line is, if you're getting any gas line work done, give these guys a call. Don't take a chance with a "does it all" plumber.
Fast, friendly, professional, Covid safe work, literally problem solving "INSIDE the (cabinet) box" to fix my gas leak! Background: I had a new gas insert installed by Rich's in Bellevue in a 1963 fireplace that had a "log lighter" from the same year. 2 days later I smelled gas...(not good). The installer for Rich's (and the sales person at Riches) basically said it wasn't their problem and that I would need to hire a contractor to remove the cabinet to get at the gas line to repair it. (Boo for Rich's...one spends 6K for a new gas fireplace and that is the response???) Well at least I didn't blow up and knew enough to turn off the leaky valve feeding the new fireplace. But back to removing that cabinet...Problem is, that cabinet is part of my custom kitchen cabinetry, has a quartz countertop, has 2 HVAC vents in the base and to top that off, electrical (for the new gas insert) running through it! So, hoping I could figure out a different solution, I removed cabinet drawers, cabinet face horizontal wood strips for between drawers, and rails for drawers. I cut a hole as large as possible with a jigsaw (about 7" x 18"). Puget Sound Gas said they could do the job! They put in new valve and line for only $500!!! Hiring a contractor and removing that cabinet would have been several thousand I'm sure and my kitchen would never have been the same. Thank you Puget Sound Gas for tackling my complicated job with a "can do" attitude, expertise to problem solve and for exceptional value!
These guys are really good. If you're up to your ears in dealing with contractor after contractor for various projects, save yourself some time and hire them to do your gas installation. I had at least 5 different companies come out to give me a bid on a gas line installation. This company was one of the most reasonably priced, responsive, and had the best ideas and solutions for what we were trying to accomplish. Not the cheapest, but far from the most expensive (after meeting with Neal and hearing his plan, I realized we were getting a much better value for our money than if we just went with the very cheapest- and we pay cash for everything so are super budget-conscious). We could just tell Neal and his guys would do a good job just by talking to him. He is passionate about what he does, won't cut corners, and has a lot of experience. He pulled a permit for the job, and the inspector who came out was impressed, and commented that the job they did was "one of the cleanest" ones he had seen. Neal came out 2 or 3 times to make sure his guys were doing everything to his standard. His guys are also really friendly and professional and you can tell they respect the owner and speak highly of him even after making them re-do something he wasn't 100% happy with, causing them stay at our house to work longer. The best experience I've had so far with any contractor, and we have used and met with many.
