Valerie is such an exceptional hairstylist. She has such a warm and gracious personality, which goes a long way when you are processing natural Asian hair for a several hours long cut and color. Her cuts are always so flattering even when I come in with no direction for her. The colors are vibrant and surprisingly long lasting - and she makes sure you have the right products to maintain it. I literally get complimented on my hair regularly! Highly recommend!

I've been seeing Valerie for my hair cut needs for at least 8 years now, and I've been very happy with the results for the entire time. Valerie is a great listener, and a wonderful person! I'll continue seeing her as long as I'm able, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great hair cut experience.I’m not the type of person who knows exactly what I want in a haircut, and historically I have struggled with other stylists to communicate effectively when describing what I want. Valerie is the absolute best! She is patient and intuitive, and, while I'm never exactly sure what I want to do with my hair, she is always able to interpret my thoughts into a great cut. She also does my partner's hair, and has given him great short cuts, and more recently has been helping him grow out his curls. She's also been teaching him how to properly care for his hair texture along the way.

Valerie specializes in precision and creative haircuts; hair color to accent skin tone and eye color; sun-kissed natural looking highlights and balayage. She also loves to make your rainbow dream hair color become a reality. Valerie's positive and upbeat personality is contagious and her vision is to inspire confidence in her clients so that they can shine their brightest and love themselves inside and out. Valerie Phoenixx Salon is in a private suite, where you can come to relax in a hand crafted sanctuary by Valerie herself. The salon is located North of University Village Shopping Mall, inside Salons by JC on 25th Ave NE.
