Today was an epic day because of incredible customer service. My dad will be 98-years old at the end of this month. Tommy H. checked us in at the VA. As he checked us in, I heard him whisper, "Wow." I knew he was referring to my dad's age, so I said, "Yeah, 98-years old!" He said, "Yes, I see." We came in for a routine foot appointment, and were told that his foot appointment had been canceled. Of course, we understand that things do come up, but I did ask why we weren't told. He said he wasn't sure, wrote some things down on a sticky, and said he would do what he could. I gratefully thanked him as he hurried to find a solution. As he walked away, he pointed to my dad and said, "Of course, that's history." He reduced me to tears of gratitude and appreciation. He was so respectful to my dad and did everything he could to get my dad taken care of. I know he could tell how hard it was to just get dad out of the house for the appointment. Shortly after, a nurse, Helen B, came out and told us that she would be seeing my dad between appointments. She was so kind and comforting. I was so relieved that our trip to the VA was not in vain, due to these two kind and caring angels. Helen could see how emotional and grateful I was and patted my arm, and dad's, too. My dad has dementia, so he probably doesn't understand all that transpired. However, I do know that my dad knows when he's being treated well, and with such respect. These are the heroes and sheroes of the world. Those who help people that can't help themselves are the epitome of the most amazing humans. I hope they know how exceptional they are.

Polite nice knowledgeable smart funny Seattle ER is nice a lot better than San diego Went today thinking I was going into cardiac arrest BP of 180 they treated promptly I saw neuro woman talked about the brain and some other stuff I honestly used to be afraid of getting treated I always thought it was a way of someone to use it against me that hole grunt thing never admitting too pain struggle or any type of anything lol I guess that's why I was always negative about the situation but today I went with a serious worry and they acted I'm by far more than comfortable and satisfied with the people I saw today and see great things with treatment via here in Seattle at the veterans affairs

Getting an appointment for my mom in ophthalmology is a work of God and the wait time is always 1-2 hours. That being said, the eye clinic receptionists are the best we have ever encountered within the VA system. As is always in the VA, the front desk people usually are unpleasant and sometimes just downright rude, but once you get to the back, the providers and caretakers are incredible. We definitely rarely expect to easily get in and out of any appointment for my mom, but we are thankful for the care she is able to receive as an Air Force veteran.
