About Seattle Artist League Art School
Seattle Artist League Art School offers affordable ceramics classes in a supportive environment. Instructors like Scott and Willow Heath provide helpful instruction and encouragement, making it a great place for beginners. The open studio is very generous, allowing students to practice and experiment freely. Students praise the helpfulness of the instructors, who are willing to assist with trying different techniques beyond the classroom lessons. The classes include free glaze and cover a variety of techniques, helping students develop their skills and build a strong foundation. The school is easy to enroll in and located in a convenient area, making it accessible for all. Overall, it is a welcoming place for those looking to learn and explore ceramics.
Excellent zoom classes with Keith Pfeiffer on painting. Challenging and fun. Everyone makes progress.
Serious art institution with zero art attitude. Welcoming to all artists with whatever level skills they bring.
I live in Michigan, yet was able to learn a great deal from this Seattle art center. My perception -- for all 4 SAL classes I've taken -- is that you have adapted your teaching methods (don't know what they were previously) -- to the online medium. I find that very impressive. People who try to do on Zoom exactly what they did in person are less successful. In most art classes I've taken live, the instructors allowed a lot more time in class for people to just work, but I think the level of talk & the shortness of intervals to work before getting another assignment works well with Zoom -- it keeps you from wandering off into your own headspace & not being very connected to the class. The two instructors I've had -- AJ & Ruthie -- are both outgoing & that attribute comes across well on Zoom. They also really knew their stuff.
