I used to work at a shop that sent a large amount of woodwork to Pinnacle. It used to be the case that I found their work to be especially good quality , and noticed that they always would make sure to fill any nail holes that were missed in the shop , etc. , and do the prep work necessary to achieve a very nice job. But I have to concur with Shon. C 's review in recent years. I'm seeing gobs of paint hardened and left in the corners of things , on prominently seen things like doors being shipped out, ugly drips left and not corrected , using larger screws in cabinet door hinge screw holes to hang the doors while they finish them, THEN THE ACTUAL DOOR HINGE SCREWS NO LONGER FIT!! It is hard to understand how such a poor practice could possibly take place , but it's the typical now. Bob seems to be out of touch with ensuring people are properly trained , as well as quality control. Like Shon.C , I've started to notice Bob will say excuses and make statements that attempt to shift blame and responsibility away from him. I used to think he was a straight shooter , but my view has changed. I'm looking for another finishing contractor for the jobs I do.

We hired Bob and his team at Pinnacle to stain some of the units in our 6-unit townhouse complex. My husband and I also wanted to paint a strip of AC ducting to match the rest of our house. One of my neighbors had used Pinnacle years prior and had a good experience. Unfortunately, we had several issues with this project. In short, we had significant issues around the quality of the work that was done, especially with the ducting along the side of our home - something that should have been a quick and simple project. There were large areas that got missed, scratches left on the side of our building from their ladder, paint that ended up dripped/brushed/splattered onto other areas such as our plants, exterior siding, retaining wall, the AC unit on our back patio, etc. In addition, the stain used to freshen up our building was applied unevenly - with some units showing the grain (as we intended) and others being overly saturated, which ended up looking more like paint. If these issues weren't enough, I later learned found STAIN SPLATTER ALL OVER THE HOOD OF MY CAR - this, after I had to ask to have our vehicles covered and protected. ------ You learn a lot about a business by the way they handle issues. The initial concerns that were brought up were around the stain color not matching. In fairness, this was not their fault as the builder gave our neighbor the wrong color. However, instead of stopping the application immediately after seeing it didn't match, when we inquired about why it looked different, we were told that the stain was just being applied thicker so it would last longer. Huh? It was clearly the wrong color! This is the excuse from professional painters. And because of how far along they got on two units, we then had to have the same stain color applied - even those of us who hadn't planned on painting our units. At this point, we had no choice. My husband and I justified the decision to stain our unit, but then the new issue became about application. The stain was applied unevenly from one unit to the next. When I brought up my concern about this, Bob became defensive and told me that I was being overly picky. He eventually offered to strip the stain and reapply. However, that was shortlived as he later came back and said that removing the stain would likely leave stripes in the seams, making everything worse. We had to settle with the fact that it was what it was. Needless to say, none of us is looking forward to paying more next time to resolve issues that came up this time. I will say that they did offer to reimburse for the removal of the stain marks left on my car - which I appreciated. However, what they weren't taking on was the time and hassle I had to spend locating a shop that would do the work, bringing my car in, etc. To me, it's unacceptable to have entire sections of paint missing in areas that are supposed to be painted or to have to worry about plants, vehicles, or other parts of a home being protected in the process. I have access to plenty of other resources for crappy paint application - myself, my husband, my nieces and nephews, my dogs... I should be able to expect more from professionals. Pinnacle may have been decent years ago, but it's clear that their quality of care and service has since gone downhill. I would not recommend working with them.
