Can't say enough good things about this place. Took my dog, then showed up with a stray and they helped my fiancé and I with open arms. This is the kind of place you want to take your pet, and has the kind staff that your pets wants to be with. WORTH THE DRIVE FROM ANYWHERE IN PO.
I am new to the area and went to Woodside on or about November 12th. I was looking to establish a relationship with a local vet for my 2 dogs. The appointment was fine. There were various vaccines done on one young puppy and a blood test on my older dog so I could get heart worm prevention medication. They were efficient and nice. Then I called them a couple days ago because I had an emergency flight on December 4th, Where I needed a health certificate to bring my dog in a carrier. They couldn't issue one as it was outside the 10 day period Washington state requires. Ok, no problem but can you slip in my dog for a 2 minute exam since there were there 3 weeks ago and completely checked out? I would pay for the appointment and obviously the health certificate. They were fully booked so no. What if I just stopped in at the very end of the day, after they saw all the patients for a quick look over and they could prepare the form in advance so no one had to work late. NO NO NO. The best they could do was call me the next day, on December 3rd if they had a cancellation. They didn't call. I would COMPLETELY understand, had they not seen my dog in 6 months, but they just examined my dog a couple weeks ago. So needless to say I won't be going there again, and neither will my sister who is moving to the area next month with 2 dogs. We will send our 4 dogs to another Vet that can be more flexible, and squeeze in a 2 minute look over when they saw a perfectly healthy dogs 3 weeks prior. I will be flying a lot in the future. At least 6 to 10 times in 2020 alone. So that's 10 appointments and health certificate revenue they will not get. And yes, I had to leave my dog behind and pay big bucks for boarding.
All I can say is WOW. This place is amazing. I am new to the area and was looking for a quality vet, but did not have an immediate need for one. However that all changed this week when my 12 year old lab took a turn for the absolute worst and needed to be put to rest. I called locations all over Port Orchard and my original vet in Puyallup. No one could see us or charged insane prices. *Side note* I swear vets are preying on people's grief and need and charge high prices. When I called I was told they were booked solid for 2-3 weeks, but Woodside made time for us immediately. They did an amazing job. I kinda thought they would rush me in and out but they treated me as if we had this appointment for weeks. I had to say goodbye to the best dog and they gave me all the time I needed. It was cost effective, they were super compassionate and helpful despite me being a blubbering mess. I will be sure to come back and tell everyone I know who has a need. I could not say enough good things about this place. Thank you so much!
