I called Shold after business hours to help out on a septic system alarm that went off while the home was unoccupied, and I was on the other side of the country. I called Shold and spoke with Martin, who was patient and more than willing to go over to my house that evening to see what caused the system to alarm. Of course I was thinking about all the catastrophic things that could have happened to cause the alarm to go off, being so far away and unable to get to my home that night. Well Martin kept me calm and walked me through next steps. Fortunately, it was a small part that had malfunctioned! "An easy fix"-he had the part in his truck. Martin kept me updated on things via text. When speaking with him the following day, he was happy to answer my basic questions about septic systems. Fantastic customer service and so pleasant to work with! I'd give 6 stars if I could. Keep up the great work Martin!
BLUF: Not a typical Peninsula experience - all for the good. We have a seasonal house in Port Ludlow that we recently moved into semi-permanently. As such we have engaged many service providers across a gamut of disciplines in the COVID/post COVID era. My overall experience has been much less than ideal from "we are too busy" to "if you want to pay 10x what you were a year ago we MIGHT be able to help you out" and finally the apparent lack of timekeeping devices out here. In stark contrast to the "norm", Shold was: 1. Professional - on time and on budget 2. High quality - everything we discussed was accomplished exactly as promised. Did I mention they are ALWAYS on time? 3. Exceeding expectations - we had Dick Shold build our seawall in the 1980s, so we know this outfit. We didn't call anyone else, so I can't talk about cost comparison HOWEVER if you want no headaches and a "can do" attitude look no further. Our property looks better than before a very extensive septic expansion necessitated tearing a lot up. Every "management" issue I had (questions or requests) DURING the execution phase was handled courteously and fairly by Tim. I can't say enough good about Jess who was continually available for advice and clarification during the planning phase. The onsite foreman, Brady, is one of the nicest and most competent operators I've met. He went the extra mile at every step. If you're a Nordstrom type person (best value vs cheapest) this outfit is for you.
I work in real estate and Shold has come through big time for us on multiple occasions! During one emergency at our Quilcene office Dakota and crew moved heaven and earth to ensure a septic pipe got repaired that day so our tenant could stay open over the weekend despite them being absolutely swamped with work. It was above and beyond and incredibly appreciated!
