Oh noooo! I stopped by Farm Fresh this morning, and they were closed at 11:30 with no sign or anything. Looking in to the store, I saw half empty shelves, stuff on the floor, and nothing whatsoever in the produce cooler. I couldn't tell; we're they liquidating? Victims of a crime? Google could not tell me, but Facebook says their walk in cooler was broken into, their produce cooler died, and the glass on the chicken rotisserie broke! No ETA on reopening or anything. This used to be such a great little store! Small but mighty. I will definitely watch & wait for a grand re-opening.
This used to be a great local health food store when Ceclia was the owner. The new owner has made a lot of very undesirable changes. I used to be able to get great grass-fed beef. Now he primarily has very expensive "wagyu" beef. And they no longer seem to carry grass-fed beef. I was told by the cashier that the steak from Painted Hills was grass-fed, even though the label no longer says, "grass-fed." However, after going to Painted Hills' website, I can see that this is NOT true. It is labeled "Natural Beef," NOT "Grass-fed." This was my primary source for grass-fed steaks. There are many other things he has stopped carrying. Most recently, they have stopped putting prices on their produce, and all of the produce looked really bad - old, wilted, very sorry looking. Most of it is not labeled organic, so it's a question as to whether or not all of their produce is organic like it used to be. And they are carrying less organic cheeses as well. Their overall inventory has changed dramatically over the last year - having more to do with the change in ownership and not Covid. This is no longer a local resource for organic and grass-fed food. They also changed their store hours to close an hour earlier - and this was long before the Covid changes. They used to be very customer service oriented and were happy to order things on request. Now, their attitude is quite different. It's sad to see what was a great store become this.
Farm Fresh Market tucked behind the Sushi House on Black Lake Blvd. in Olympia might be easy to miss -- but don't!! What a wonder.... We are very Grateful to Farm Fresh. Since this crazy pandemic thing began it has been very important to me to keep my family at home as much as possible. Obtaining fresh local food has been a real challenge. Farm Fresh has a wonderful curbside pick-up process that is very easy to use. They will also deliver -- be sure to tip (can be done online, as I understand it) as driver is not paid for delivery. I am a veggie type, but Hubby is not and he swears the Roasted Chicken is the best he has ever eaten! I just appreciate that I can pick it up -- along with fresh onions, salad makings and the best Kombucha in the World. Go find it! ~Thank You so very much Farm Fresh Market!!! :~) !
