“We finished a major remodel with American Remodeling Experts in late 2023, including our kitchen, master bathroom, powder room and flooring on our 1st level. We selected this company after interviewing 12 general contractors, and we are very happy with the end result.- Quality: Amir assembled a great team of professional sub-contractors who took pride in their work. On most days, the core team worked on our house from 8.30am to 7pm, and cleaned up after themselves really well. Other sub-cons came to our job site many times until we were satisfied with the smallest details. Amir personally vetted all finish items’ specifications to minimize installation risks before we made purchases .- On-time delivery: We moved out to a temp apartment to escape construction dust. To our surprise, Amir finished our big remodel within 12 weeks as promised on his contract. His project manager, Sveta, was super responsive to our texts/calls, frequently updating on-site progress with lots of details and photos.- Customer care: Amir was a great listener. We had a terrible remodel experience in our first home 8 years ago, and became extremely careful with this remodel. We asked a million questions, and Amir always answered them with great technical details. On occasions that we disagreed with each other, Amir always showed patience and chose to protect our benefits. Amir was also very understanding of our remodel anxiety. Although our project was unexpectedly delayed 1 week due to our baby’s hospitalization, Amir still managed to move stuffs around to ensure the remodel finish on time. After we moved out to our temp apartment, his team carefully lined up plastic walls around working areas and turned on an industrial air purifier to prevent dust spreading to other parts of our house. At the end, he also sent in a team of cleaners to freshen up the space before we moved home. Up till today, Amir is still very responsive to our home-related questions.- Design: Amir is not the type of contractors who simply take your money and say yes to all your asks. He’d push you to think out of the box, and explore bold design elements that make your house “uniquely you”. I really enjoy my new kitchen and master bathroom as both functional and creative spaces.- Cost: This company was not cheap. In fact, it was one of the most expensive companies among the 12 GCs we interviewed. We went ahead with Amir because we knew apart from price, on-time delivery and quality were very important to us. Amir understood our budget constraint, so he helped us source for affordable finish items that still met our design requirements. Thanks to his contractor discounts, we saved ~10K for quartz countertop and cabinets.“

“Thorough and thoughtful process. Very professional and collaborative group of folks. We are quite pleased with our full first floor remodel including a full kitchen redesign down to the studs. Emerald City helped us end-to-end from CAD designs, vendor/material selection, build out, interior finishes, etc. Our project was originally scoped for 10 weeks, but due to a few supply chain delays it wrapped in 14 weeks. The budget for the entire remodel was set from the beginning so we knew all of the costs from the outset. There was only one change to the budget which added unforeseen costs to the project. Ultimately the remodel went 2.7% over our agreed upon budget. Emerald City was responsive and thorough when we had requests for minor tweaks throughout the projects (style of light switches, paint touch ups, replacing a few backsplash tiles). Overall, working with Emerald City Construction was an entirely positive experience and I would recommend anyone consider them for their remodel project.“

“JD Remodel and Repair (Adolfo) is responsive, professional, and offers very reasonable prices on repair and remodeling services.After a water damage incident in our basement laundry room, we needed a bunch of drywall repair and new flooring. After a few months of going to the laundromat, we decided to get the laundry room repaired first.Adolfo gave reasonable timelines and estimates for everything and we were impressed with the amount of work he got done everyday as a 1-man team. He's a genuine person and just wonderful to work with. He did a great job with the drywall and tiling the laundry room.(Unfortunately I had to remove one star because the last day when he applied texture to the drywall, he didn't cover any of the light switches/plumbing/electrical outlets so the flecks of texture got everywhere)Update: Adolfo reached out to address my concerns and offered to provide additional cleanup. We initially reached out to fix some rot around the basement door that had leaking problems, and Matt thoroughly inspected the issue and helped us solve the underlying moisture problems. He was more thorough and knowledgeable than other contractors we spoke to (my husband said "I wish we had found Matt sooner!"). While there were several issues that needed to be fixed (leaking door, bad drainage, improper flashing), Matt was super reasonable to work with at getting them fixed and advising us on best practices for what we could do ourselves.I appreciated that he took extra steps for safety and site clean up, given we had a toddler in the house.
