So I first went here on a lark, a free workshop on knee pain. I am middle aged, active, but after 17 years of soccer in my youth, my knees feel like there is gravel in there. My better half can hear my knees coming before me. So I went, and learned a great deal in just the seminar (middle of pandemic mind you), and the team there wereare beyond professional. They are easy going, and treat me as a whole person, and not a revenue stream. They actually care about me to get better, and would rather see me get better and never come back, than to keep me coming for no reason. I have learned a great deal, and I even practice with my family at home, so they are better prepared, and hopefully won't go thru the same pain as me. Trust me on this folks, pain is not a badge of honour to endure. It wears at you mentally just as much as it does physically. This is my first really good experience with PT, and I have been to a lot of PT places. Please don't hesitate to check WAPT out... they want to see you heal.
I have been having some balancing issues particularly when tired. Rather than 8 weeks downtime from surgery, I choose to return to Michael and his team of pros for PT. It was the best decision I could have made. I got a series of exercised customized to my current level of fitness, my age and my endurance. We also came up with a solid plan of exercises I could do at home between sessions and after Medicare quit paying for treatment. It was the best decision I could have made. I could see steady improvement which transfer to my work life. No more falls. And no surgery needed. Please note this is the 4th time I have seen Mike in 14 years, 2 knee replacements, a shoulder injury and now core and balance. I will go again if I have an issue. It's no nonsense but with a bit of sarcasm -- once he gets to know you "e.g. Ah just 20 more reps on the other side." In addition he explains the why behind the exercises. I like knowing why I am doing something.
