Everyone I talked to that goes to Virginia Mason all complain about a critical issue with this provider. The doctors all have amnesia and they keep prescribing the same tests because they don't bother checking notes or try to prescribe treatment that almost killed a patient before, or forget critical info about serious allergens because, you guess it, they don't bother checking notes. I have no idea if it's because they're overloaded with too many patients or because they don't hire good quality practitioners. But we all feel like going to Virginia Mason will objectively shorten our life span. Find a different hospital, or pay close attention to your doctor for frequent mistakes. Since it can hurt you physically or financially for no good reason. We're all paying good money for healthcare and we shouldn't be paying a provider that can make your condition worse because they're checked out.
I have been going to VM for the last 24 years. Dr. Suhr was my Doctor; he retired, and now I have Dr. Peltier. Both of them are very kind men. I trust them so much that I travel from MT Vernon to Kirkland--over 100 miles--to see my doctor. Why, you ask? Because I do not think there are better doctors than the one I have. I have been well cared for, and they show genuine concern. The 4 I rated VM is because of Franciscan Health. They only give these doctors 10 min with each patient, and making an appointment usually takes 3-4 months to see your physician. Horrible. Since Francisca has taken over, the quality has slipped due to that rule of thumb, which brings me to the billing. They have made mistakes in billing a few times now, and if you do not pay within the first month, they send a person to collections. That is ridiculous, which brings me back to the physicians. How much pressure are they dealing with? Worries me. The doctors and nursing staff are the BEST ANYWHERE.
Care for my mom. Radiation and Oncology. My mom has not experienced being loved like that on a long time. She went in for 22 days of VMAT and I have to say, EVERYONE, even the parking guys are showing love. The Radiation team in the basement are truly amazing and so caring. Validated parking when you go here. The only exception is you'll be lucky to find a wheelchair. Plan ahead. Call ahead to transportation. It's sad how few wheelchairs there are available at Buck.
