VFW Post 1135 is a friendly safe place for Veterans and their loved ones to simply sit down with other War Veterans, drink coffee, or if gambling and alcohol is more your thing, they have games and beverages in abundance. I served in OIFII 1st Cavalry Division from March 04-05. The Quartermaster, Bill is in my age group and super chill and supportive. The Commander is a Vietnam Veteran, door gunner, Cav. He was extremely friendly and helped me feel welcome.Larry was another Veteran I met, and he too was a testament to the values and respect, that is painfully missing in so many places in the civilian sector. Considering we were here for potluck after memorial service for my father, (not something like, a place we "chose" to visit for a meal...)But, the company was good (family and friends) and the food brought in by family and friends as we'd rented the right side of the place (the left has the bar that was open the whole time).The price was more than fair for a rental with plenty of tables and seating.Kitchen was small but did have 2 stoves (both got used) and we were allowed to use their serving utensils (for the dishes that didn't come with any) as long as we cleaned anything used.It was a good place to spend some family time after the memorial and it was only a couple...read full review
