Mr. Richard, twelve years ago, I accosted Dr. Deonne, as I call her in a full blown raging manic state. I am bi-polar. And I wanted her to react to me in anger. She was a class act. She quietly explained that I would have to make an appointment later in the week. But no, I wanted her to be just as emotional as I was. But she wasn't. And Mr. Richard, I am a black woman. Dr. Deonne Brown Benedict is exceptional. She has always taken more time than any other Healthcare Provider I’ve seen and she actually LISTENS. She’s as calm and caring as she is brilliant. I highly recommend!

Was stereotyped as “angry” when I called to enquire about a paperwork issue. People of color, stay away. These types of interactions are why people of color, especially black or people, have such a hard time finding mental healthcare.
