LA Fitness provides a good value with many amenities, including state-of-the-art equipment, basketball courts, group fitness classes, pool, saunas, Kids Klub, and personal training. Members enjoy the convenience of multiple locations close by and a juice/coffee bar. The women's locker room is clean, with plenty of lockers and a spacious dry sauna. The weight area and machine selection are well-liked, although some equipment is sometimes broken, and the spa in the pool area has experienced malfunctions, which management is working to fix. The gym is generally clean and friendly, with helpful staff. It features four racquet/tennis/paddle ball courts, a cycle room, and an open studio with multiple stretching mats. The basketball court and separate saunas for men and women are additional highlights. However, the location is smaller, with only three squat racks, and does not have a steam room. After 4 pm, it can get quite busy, especially with guests bringing friends, which can make the space crowded. Treadmills and the spa occasionally have maintenance issues. The water is heavily chlorinated, and sanitizing wipes are often out of stock. Some clients leave dumbbells around, and there are kids using equipment, which can be distracting. Price-wise, memberships are around $35 a month with a yearly fee of about $100. Other suggestions include allowing reservations for racquetball courts and adding quick informational videos for classes in the app. Some machines, like adductor/abductor and the bent over booty machine, should face a wall for privacy, and an age limit on equipment use might help prevent younger kids from occupying machines when adults need them. Overall, it remains a favorite LA Fitness for many members.
