“My dog Vino did the board and train program at Argos. He is quite fear reactive, generally anxious around new people, and started having fear based redirect aggression with our neighbors dog, which is when I knew it was time! I was nervous about a 4 week program, but I'm so glad I did it. Because of his fear and trauma, he needed the time to build good foundations over the 4 weeks.
When we came in for a free consultation, the two trainers (Manny and Erik) let us take our time to talk through all our questions and concerns, got to know Vino, and set expectations really well based on what they saw from Vino that day. We spent 1.5 hours and they made sure we could take the time we needed.
They were able to get Vino in super quickly which was amazing and hard to find. Throughout the program we got weekly updates including videos and photos. Vino did incredibly well at his time at Argos in that he learned the fundamentals of loose leash training, learned how to have positive interactions with dogs, and gained confidence around people. The staff seemed to do very well balancing putting him in uncomfortable situations but also going at his pace. By the end, he was able to be very close to the other dogs there without reacting and was able to have positive interactions with dogs across a fence, which we didn't think was possible.
These were incredible results but if you are considering this program, it's important to know (and Argos did tell us) that you have to put the work in to continue newly learned habits. Vino can fall back into bad tendencies back at home of reacting when seeing dogs he used to react to. That said, the redirect aggression is completely gone and vino recovers much better in stressful situations. I think it's important to know that while it was incredibly successful and left us both feeling confident, we will still work at his reactivity.
When we went back for our 2 week post training session, this was honestly mostly a training for me (in a good way) to go through situations we weren't sure about or needed practice at. But Vino again had positive interactions with dogs during this sessions and was so excited to see the trainer, which is how I know he had a great experience too. It does seem like the trainers really care about long term success and are happy to help with challenges into the future as well, which is incredible.

My only recommendations for argos:
-While weekly report cards are great and thorough, I would love to see more photos / brief updates every few days, especially at the beginning. I would say most other boarding places have more frequency so would love to see that for the program cost.
- I recommend that Argos sends more information about exactly what to pack and expect before the program. I reached out 2 days before asking about a packing list. They gave me a list, but I didn't realize just how many treats he would need. I ended up having to bring more, and I live an hour away so I just wish I had gotten more information from the beginning on what was expected of me to avoid that.
- They are incredibly generous about trainers time and having free sessions after/before. That said when budgeting, keep in mind the program doesn't include buying the accessories your dog might need after the program, like a specific collar or leash. We did need these and it's a bit unideal to have the extra cost. I think it would be nice to have an option to lump them together, and again, just have more proactive information from the beginning on what to expect.

Thanks Argos, vino will continue to come back for boarding and we are grateful for such a positive experience.“

Canine Harmony Pet Boarding Training

“I recommend Canine Harmony 100%. Our dog is a rescue and we were nervous about boarding him because of this. I did extensive research and they also came highly recommended by my friend. Timber did amazing and is so happy after we picked him up. We drove all the way from Port Coquitlam to bring him here and we have a few boarding places a couple blocks from us. They took amazing care of our boy and the pictures and videos that they shared with us proved it by the way my dog looked. He literally had a smile ear to ear in each of the photos and videos. Thank you so much, you guys took a lot of stress off of our shoulders. We will be back.“

“It honestly blows my mind how some people have no problem at all writing bad reviews, without any concern whatsoever as to how a poor review can negatively impact a person's reputation and ability to earn a living. The purpose behind submitting a review is to truthfully inform the public by showcasing a great experience, and explaining any "relevant" issues that need improving; so that a business can improve...it is not a forum for the purpose of attempting to ruin someone's life! Always be kind and remember that you don't know what a person may be going through in life. That said, this breeder is a gift from G-d! I have had 5 deeply loved dogs over the years bred by Kristy.I met Kristy many years ago when I took my beloved Shih Tzu Daisy to her for grooming. BTW...She was and still is the absolute best small breed groomer in the Lower Mainland. Anyways, at the time we met back in the early 90's, she was just starting out as a Yorkie Breeder, and her goal was to be among the best Yorkshire Terrier show quality Breeders in North America. She researched tirelessly, she did everything right in terms of being a bonafide Breeder, (not a backyard Breeder) and went to extreme financial lengths, and still does, to show her dogs in the best shows all over the world. Only a Breeder of Champions can develop a reputation as a serious champion show Breeder of exceptional quality dogs among other show Breeders, and the dog show world is extremely difficult to penetrate in terms of being taken seriously and regarded as a credible show breeder. It takes years and years of dedication, effort, incredible hard work and extreme amounts of money. However, Kristy understood that without that reputation and acceptance, she would be nothing more than a backyard breeder, and that was out of the question. She maintained a busy grooming business 7 days a week, in order to fund her HUGE expenses, which include outrageously high veterinary bills, show expenses, handler costs, supplies etc etc., and on top of that, she regularly rescues dogs from bad breeders, most with serious genetic health issues. So, for those who balk at the high cost of a show quality puppy, and think that all Breeders are "in it for the money", WRONG! A backyard Breeder is in it for the money, Kristy is in it for the love, dedication, devotion and preservation of the breeds she is involved with. You know, many small dog breeds need cesarian sections to give birth, and the cost of that is outrageous! A simple spay costs $1500 now, so trust me, the $4,000 price for a show quality Yorkie, for example may sound high to those who don't understand the true cost of quality breeding, but after all the vet checks, shots, Stud fees, supplies, CKC admin costs, (papers etc.) trust me, the profit margin is borderline "loss" when all is said and done.Further, all of Kristy's puppies are well cared for in her home, and are even paper trained before leaving.I leave you with this...Without people like Kristy, those breeds would be extinct due to genetic damage and pain and suffering caused by backyard breeders...“
