I booked four haircut/shave appointments with V’s in early August for my upcoming wedding in September for three groomsmen and myself, the groom. The appointments were all set for 12 PM. On the week of the wedding I got a call 2 days before the appointment where they asked if I could move the appointments to either 1PM or 10AM. They explained that there was no barbers available as the one on staff was in the hospital. I told them 1PM would be okay. I got multiple texts asking to confirm my 1PM appointment on the day of. I responded letting them know I was still good for 1PM. When I showed up with my party to the barbers shop at 12:40 PM there was literally no one in the store. No customers in chairs and no one behind the counter. Two women came out of the back of the shop after waiting around the front of the store for 5 minutes. They asked who was getting a haircut and what services we needed. I explained that we are here for the 1PM appointments that they had moved me to. The women explained that only one of the three appointments was going to be moved to 1PM and that since I didn’t show up or call for the 12PM appointments all of my appointments were cancelled including my 1PM appointment. I asked why they didn’t explain this initially to which they had no response. I asked why they didn’t call to which they told me an automated text was sent. After looking through my messages I got one text explaining this exact message at 12:30 PM: “Hello this is V's Barbershop. We have a 7 minute cancelation policy and after that we will be taking walk-ins and all your appointments will be removed. -V's Barbershop - Bellingham Bakerview Square” I again asked why they wouldn’t call when 3 people didn’t show up… they had no response except to blame me for not checking my phone. They both had a sour attitude the entire time despite all of us just trying to find the best solution to the problem at hand. I was now in a very bad spot with my wedding literally the next day. I asked if they could at least honor the 1PM appointment for myself. They straight up told me, “we can give you a 10 minute haircut but nothing longer than that” Yeah, because I would definitely love to receive a hack job rushed haircut from someone who is visibly annoyed with me the day before my wedding. I declined their unprofessional service and took my business elsewhere. Today at 4:00PM Saturday Sept 17th; I come to find out they charged me $195 for three haircuts despite them calling to move the appointments and then getting them cancelled over their own poor service. I called the store to see what happened. The lady I contacted remembered me and immediately told me there was nothing she could do. I asked for her name and she hung up on me after stating “I have real work to do”. This is easily the worst run barbershop I have ever encountered. PLEASE PLEASE do not support this business who has blatantly shown they will not honor their appointments, move appointments despite having them months in advance, charge you without authorization and then refuse to refund you and hang up on you when trying to find a resolution. The barber who took my call should be ashamed of themselves and seek a profession where they do not deal with the general public as I am a calm and rational person. I can’t imagine how they would treat someone who is actually entitled. If you are the owner of this barbershop please arrange a way for me to contact you so we can come to a civil resolution without me being hung-up on and disrespected. Thank you
