“Mr. Handyman repaired my balcony above my garage that incurred water damage, installed a waterproof vinyl cover, and replaced the railing. The work they did was high quality and it looks great. My only gripe is that after spending $15K, and paying labor rates of $100-$140/hour, I was asked if I wanted to tip at the end of the project. . I did not appreciate that ... and despite what they say.... that is not customary to ask that. It left a bad taste in my mouth, and, quite honestly, makes me hesitate to call on them again even though they did good work. In response to the reply by the business regarding the tip, I think the point is being missed. A.) I didn't ask you if I could tip. You asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. B.) Asking your customers to leave a tip when they already paid $100-$140 per hour is inappropriate on any size job, and, frankly, undermines tipping that people should leave service providers that earn much less.“

“Our experience with the owner George Beck was outstanding. We had a small bathroom to redo. He gave us an estimate that was well under other estimates. Not only did George complete the job on time and on budget, but we were excited at the outcome. We also asked George to do a couple of small jobs that he gave us an estimate for, and he completed them on time and budget. I would recommend George for any type of remodeling. He works quickly with care and gives an outstanding completed project.“

“John Pierce is the owner of Capitol Hill Handyman and he is competent, efficient, and knows a lot about carpentry, plumbing, and simple electrical issues. It’s hard to find a good handyman nowadays, but I highly recommend John for small repairs around the house.“

“JD Remodel and Repair (Adolfo) is responsive, professional, and offers very reasonable prices on repair and remodeling services. After a water damage incident in our basement laundry room, we needed a bunch of drywall repair and new flooring. After a few months of going to the laundromat, we decided to get the laundry room repaired first.Adolfo gave reasonable timelines and estimates for everything and we were impressed with the amount of work he got done everyday as a 1-man team. He's a genuine person and just wonderful to work with. He did a great job with the drywall and tiling the laundry room.(Unfortunately I had to remove one star because the last day when he applied texture to the drywall, he didn't cover any of the light switches/plumbing/electrical outlets so the flecks of texture got everywhere)Update: Adolfo reached out to address my concerns and offered to provide additional cleanup. Many contractors would either not respond or give excuses so I updated my rating :)“

“I am super thankful for Matt's help. We initially reached out to fix some rot around the basement door that had leaking problems, and Matt thoroughly inspected the issue and helped us solve the underlying moisture problems. He was more thorough and knowledgeable than other contractors we spoke to (my husband said "I wish we had found Matt sooner!"). While there were several issues that needed to be fixed (leaking door, bad drainage, improper flashing), Matt was super reasonable to work with at getting them fixed and advising us on best practices for what we could do ourselves.I appreciated that he took extra steps for safety and site clean up, given we had a toddler in the house. Overall, great level of expertise, well done work, and really reliable. Would definitely hire again.“

“AmyWorks transformed the lower part of my home (garage and laundry room) into a fabulous Mother-in-Law apartment. There was already a very large bedroom and bathroom in that part of the house. Now, in addition to the large bedroom, there is a gorgeous kitchen and laundry area plus a large living room and an unheated storage closet (could be seen as the apartment's basement/garage/storage area.) AND, the bathroom has been enlarged and the substandard shower stall has been replaced by a beautiful walk-in shower with a first class rolling heavy duty glass door (purchased at 2nd Use for a fraction of the cost; if you don't know about 2nd Use, you need to check them out online and then go for visit!!). The AmyWorks crew were very professional and gifted. Kayla, who runs the various remodel/construction crews, is very organized and is an awesome communicator. I had never taken on such a major remodel project and I appreciated her patience and willingness to explain many things and basically help guide me through the remodel. I highly recommend AmyWorks for your remodel/construction project.“

“I had Handy Andy do a small bathroom renovation plus install a closet door and a glass shower door in another bathroom. Their work was excellent and reasonably priced. They helped me choose the tiles and flooring, and I’m so glad I listened to them because their choices were beautiful. I’ve had some not-so-great experiences with other contractors, so I really appreciated how great Chris and Kathy were to work with. I will definitely choose Handy Andy for any future projects.Services: Tile work installation“

“We have had a really hard time finding a handyman who is both skilled, honest, and hardworking to complete some projects around our house. So happy we found urban renovation because they were able to add the finishing touches to our renovation that we haven’t had the chance to complete on our own. Sheet rock, trim, doors, and tile work all excellent execution and we love how our house has come together. They are kind and passionate about their work. We would recommend them to any of our friends.“

“I have hired John twice now. The 1st time he came out and caulked and painted my "orange" colored door frames upstairs. They look amazing!! Recently I called John to come out for more painting. He finished the exterior painting I had started and painted my bathroom & a bedroom. Both rooms needed some drywall patching & he did a flawless job!! He caulked and painted the door frames downstairs. He also did some magic on a touchup on my entry door. Everything looks just beautiful!! I would hire John again in a heartbeat!!“
