We have a large construction project starting soon on our property, and the contractor was worried about negotiating cement trucks and materials down our mile-long dirt driveway, which winds through thick woods. A couple of years ago, we hired Catamount Tree Service to remove a few large, compromised trees in our yard that were threatening one of our cabins, and we were so happy with Justin's abilities and expertise on that job that we called him to give us an estimate on removing trees on either either side of the driveway to "clean it up" and widen the road for the trucks. He and his helper Sam spent a week on the driveway taking down trees, clearing brush, and delivering wood chips to our yard for my husband to use as mulch around his apple trees and in the garden. They worked their butts off for five days and finished the job by the end of the week, as promised. Yesterday our contractor came over to meet with us and the solar guy about the project, and both of them were blown away by what Justin and Sam had accomplished. The contractor isn't worried at all now about the transport of construction materials down the driveway. Not only are Justin and his crew nice young men who are sincere, hard-working, and professional, they're also fun to hang out with. My husband brews beer, so after the job wrapped on Friday we had them in for a brew sampling, and we had a great visit. We can't say enough about how pleased we are with Justin and Catamount Tree Service!

I had already put my new Mitsubishi Hyper mini-split ductless heat pump in place (in Bethel) and needed the refrigerant lines hooked up and system pumped down. I got ridiculous quotes for up to $650 for two men for 5 hours labor. Ben from Spectrum Energy did the job in 3 1/2 hours and didn't charge for travel time like every other place around.The job he did was outstanding! Mitsubishi have very stringent instructions for the installation including several cycles of vacuum pumping and breaking vacuum with nitrogen to get down to 500 microns. Ben went beyond that down under 100 microns. The next morning the temperature hit -8 and the heater was STILL putting out very warm air. Temperature inside has never dropped below 65 with even more colder weather.One last thing - he lets you know exactly what he's doing each step of the way. It was very informative. Not like so many others who like to pretend that their work is mysterious and magical to justify the extra hours. 2 men for 4-5 hours vs 1 man for 3 1/2 hours. No brainer.***Update***Six years later, and the heat pump is still working perfectly. This guy does great work!

Alex is probably one of the best and most accessible electricians I can think of. We had a lighting issue with old lighting that was really old -- they didn't even make the bulbs any more. Alex replaced them with something newer, more efficient and they look great. He was fast, efficient and completed the job without me having to follow up! Awesome Job!
