“My project was completed by a division of Multy Builders, Solid Concrete and Excavating (SCE), and I am VERY satisfied with the job. Hydrostatic pressure as a result of the heavy, constant rains of the summer of ‘23 (and subsequent high water table) had seriously damaged one of my basement foundation walls. Both horizontal and vertical cracks appeared in my cinder block western wall and the wall bowed inward at least 2” in the center. SCE anchored rebar, installed forms and extensive bracing, and poured a new concrete wall (complete with two buttresses) using the existing wall as the outer form, thereby restoring structural integrity to my foundation. Upstairs, my front door (which had bound shut due to sagging) was finally freed and usable again — SCE had jacked up the front of the house before the pour and built framing on top of the new wall to support the house and return it to its proper position.

Along the way, requests I had made were taken into consideration and followed through on with zero complaints. During the work, SCE pivoted to a different job to allow time for my basement floor to dry out enough to continue with the project, at my request. When I asked if 2x4s could be added to the tops of the forms to allow for an extra inch and a half of height on the new wall so it could MORE than cover an open seam in the block wall, again, it was no problem. The SCE team was very responsive to my questions, as well. Additionally, I found the price for the project to be well within the range of what I had expected to pay for such work — on the low end, in fact. THAT was a pleasant surprise!

I would hire Solid Concrete and Excavating again, without hesitation, for future projects. - Mike Mayone“
