This review will post probably about the location in Waynesboro. There are three other locations that I have used.First of all, the staff. They are ALWAYS helpful and most courteous. That says a lot about the offices! If the staff is happy, give credit to management, and these folks are fabulous!Further, Dr. Lawrence did cataract surgery for me. Again, I would recommend him! Straight up kinda doctor, and he has a great personality! What a treat to have such reliably great service!

I see Dr. Lawrence for glaucoma issues made severe by having had preeclampsia. He is phenomenal! I saw 4 different glaucoma specialists in Charlottesville. 3 were UVa doctors (1 was hideous, but that’s a different post), and I couldn’t deal with a 30-minute time with the doctor tying up 6 hours of my day every time! The 4th was a bad fit, and didn’t properly explain things or answer my questions.I happily drive to Waynesboro to see Dr. Lawrence! He is attentive, he explains things really well, he encourages and answers questions honestly, and he has a great personality! I am completely satisfied with the eye care and doctors I have at the present, and he is a key...read full review

Several weeks ago I had the privilege and good fortune of having Dr. Scott Lawrence examine my eyes. I had previously had them examined by two top ophthalmologists at the University of Virginia who both did particularly extensive exams and they could find absolutely nothing wrong, pronouncing my eyes at 75 years old and still 20/10 and able to easily read with no glasses, rather remarkable. They noted that I had some petosis (sagging of the eyelid) on the right side, but did not think that it was caused by anything but my age and that it was not the source of my eyestrain and, at times, blurred vision. When I met Dr. Lawrence I immediately liked him and was highly impressed by his friendly manner and his knowledge as an eye doctor, to include his ability to carefully listen to what I had to say. He did a complete examination of my eyes, as had the excellent eye doctors at UVA, but within 15 minutes had identified the problem which they had missed, which was simply that my right eye had suddenly, and for no apparent reason, stopped creating tears. Thus, I had a rather extreme case of dry eye in my right eye only which, using the eye drops he gave me (both gel and liquid), has totally solved my problem with the petosis and in turn all of the blurring and other discomforts I was having with my vision are gone!As a person who spent many of his years working in an ER, I learned that you have to be careful not to look so deeply "into the weeds" that you forget to look "at the trees," and unlike the docs at UVA who had examined me so carefully for an obscure or unusual problem, Dr. Lawrence also looked for a simple reason for my eye problems and hit a home run. Long ago I learned in the ER that to be an absolutely outstanding doc you have to look at both.I therefore give Dr. Lawrence my highest recommendation as an eye doctor who will give your eyes a truly comprehensive eye exam and one which is both highly technical and complete, but also a person who will look for a "common sense" solution which, in this case and all too often, all of the other doctors missed. Congratulations, Dr. Lawrence, and I am looking forward to seeing you next year for my yearly eye exam! You are now my new eye doctor for life! Dr. Win Winfree
