About Floyd Ward School of Dance
Floyd Ward School of Dance, a Roanoke Valley institution since 1928, offers a variety of dance classes for children aged 3-18, including ballet and hip-hop. Founded by Floyd Ward and now led by Artistic Director Jill Graybill, the school has locations in Vinton and Botetourt. The school is known for nurturing talent through the Floyd Ward Dance Ensembles, which participate in competitions along the east coast. Instructors stay current with industry developments through conventions. Their Angels from Heaven program, a non-profit, empowers special needs children in dance through donations. Parents appreciate the school's protection, care, and instruction of their children. The school not only teaches dance but also helps children develop life skills. My daughter loves dancing at Floyd Ward! The teachers are absolutely fantastic, the owners are wonderful and she has SO many amazing role models in older dancers and staff! We are so blessed to have found such a great, family friendly place for her to dance.
Both of my daughters started dancing at FWSD when they were just three years old. They’ve learned so much, met their best friends, and the studio has become their second home. They love their teachers, student teachers, teammates, and the overall atmosphere. It has been an incredibly rewarding experience for both children.
Floyd Ward is a great studio to dance at, i started at a young age up til my preteens, took a break to discover other sports and went back for my last 2 years in high school because of how much i missed dance and the studio and it’s been a great community surrounded by amazing people, i love my dance fam 💙🤍 highly recommend:)
