I was looking for horseback riding for my granddaughter when I came upon Iron Ponytail Farm. This place is so much more. My granddaughter is learning to respect and care for the horses as well as how to ride them. She is learning discipline and patience as well as kindness, responsibility and respect for all living things. The staff here develop the whole child. Finding Iron Ponytail farm was a true blessing! Highly recommend on so many levels!
This place offers several types of programs with a focus on education. The farm is located in a secluded part of Stafford and is one of the cleanest and most peaceful equine farms I've ever seen. My child is a working student and has the opportunity to both teach and learn. The farm teaches youth the importance of hard work. In addition to horse care and farm work, it also teaches responsibility relating to being on time, working as a team, and communicating with others. Those at the Iron Ponytail Farm are like family. If you have a chance, you should definitely check it out.
My son has been part of the IPF family since July 2021. I say family because that is what it feels like there. The owner and all of the working students are kind and compassionate, and their love of the animals shines through in everything they do...right down to "baby proofing" the farm for a foal they are expecting soon. They take the time to get to know their students and their families. My son is now a working student at IPF, and the values they are teaching him about hard work, compassion, confidence and generally just being a good human shine through in every aspect of the person he is growing into. I couldn't be prouder of my son for what he does there, and it is truly an honor that IPF has welcomed him and all of us into their heard. Thank you, IPF!
