“When I was taking bids for finishing my basement I mentioned to another contractor I was waiting on another estimate to come by as well, he asked if it was HIVEX and I was like yeah actually it is, he never called me back. Now I know why. The finished project looked amazing. We are extremely happy with the work they did. Great attention to detail, Professional. They put up a temporary fence to keep my dogs safe from getting out of the yard. They moved everything out of the basement for me, even taking half of it to the dump. Who else would do that? “All of Virginia roofing did an excellent job for me. I had hail and wind damage. Kenny Matute was great. He inspected initially and found the damage that was creating the leak and then also found where it was leaking in other areas I didn’t know about.
Kenny then was at my home waiting for the insurance adjuster to make sure I was being properly treated. From then on the claim and the new roof all went on perfectly. “I had recently had a contractor install a 12"X12" cedar pergola on my patio in my backyard. I felt it necessary to have a gutter system to direct the water from the patio into my flower beds. I got four estimates: $1595; $1,844; $8,000; and Jim's estimate. The only difference was the three estimates were with larger companies and dealing with sales representatives and instructed me I needed gutter guards. Jim's estimate was less than 1/2 of the lowest bid and told me I did not need gutter guards. Jim's work came with a 3 years workmanship and 15 years materials guarantee. The workmanship and quality of the gutters are outstanding!! Dealing with Jim and his wife to schedule the work and completing the project was seamless and they were very helpful and informative. I would highly recommend J & K gutters to anyone and will go nowhere else if I have any gutter needs.

“Gator just completed work on my driveway. I contacted Gator Paving a little over a week ago and spoke to office manager, Diane. I explained to her what I wanted done and she scheduled an estimate within a couple days, Owner, Chris came out and provided a written proposal on site. The work was scheduled for the following week. The crew showed up on time and did a great job. I want to recognize the fantastic work ethic of Gator crew member, Jesus Ruiz. The man's skills, energy and attention to detail are remarkable. “We received a recommendation for this company to replace the floors in our home. After contacting Hal, he responded quickly and we set up a time for him to meet and look at the project.He was prompt to show up at the agreed time and gave honest opinions to what would be appropriate. We decided to use LVT and redo the carpet on the steps. He gave us the number for Your Floors to make choices on color.After choosing the product, we received the contract. We had to work around the holidays and crew availability.Hal came to check on the toilet in the powder room, removed it and the sink. “Last year we decided to get busy with a long list of renovations over which we had been procrastinating for a very long time, the reason being the daunting challenge of finding the right contractor at a fair price. (We wanted the crew from the PBS series This Old House but they were not available.) After having several reputable local contracting firms provide estimates we settled upon Hand Construction. This decision was based upon what seemed to be a fair price, the quality of their work as we had observed at several sites in Fredericksburg, and the infectious enthusiasm of the man who was to be our point of contact and site manager, Jeff F. We hit the jackpot. Once we signed the contract, skilled and friendly craftsman of every variety began showing up and diligently setting to work, all carefully orchestrated along with the deliveries of material by Jeff. He closely managed the subcontractors and directly supervised much of the work. He visited our work site every day at least once without fail; and if we had a question or concern he was relentless in getting it resolved. We made changes to the scope of work and these were accommodated without issue. The project proceeded smoothly from start to finish with hardly a glitch. We were completely satisfied with the quality of the work which was completed on time and within budget. After six months, when one of the installed floors developed a slight problem, we contacted Jeff and he had the subcontractor on site that very day with the fix completed within a week. We are in no doubt as to whom we will call in future should we have more work. On the basis of our experience I cannot recommend Hand Construction too highly.“

“Isn't it great when someone gives you their word and then delivers?!My wife and I engaged Jon Hurst and the Fredericksburg Remodeling team as part of a contractor search to finish a portion of our basement and a few other tasks. Coming to agreement on the design and materials all in time to meet our aggressive schedule (we were expecting a baby in only a few months) was only possible because of their teamwork, commitment to schedule, and (the hardest part perhaps) delivering on commitments. We're very pleased with the outcome and plan to look to Hurst Homes first when we build our covered deck.I strongly suggest you given them a shot at your next project. And if you're doing a tile project, they usually partner with some of the best tile folks around (yes, Hunt Country Tile). Hope your experience will be as good as ours!“
