“Visited October 9, 2023 to find the cemetery restored to how I remembered it back in the 1990s. My great aunt was buried in Woodland Cemetery in 1991. I had heard about the neglect of the cemetery since then. I was surprised and happy to see the recent restoration for myself. Great Job to the volunteers and the Woodland Cemetery Preservation for saving this sacred place.“

“As I've lost several family members this year it brings me back to Jan 14th 2019 when I lost my brother. Coretta bestowed kindness and my family and I making the process a little more bearable. She worked with us so I could afford to have my brother cremated. Honestly I don't know what I would have done without that lifeline. I believe God will bless them for everything they do for the grieving families. Because I found this year but not all places are as honorable as Scott's Funeral Home is.“

“Google maps directed us through some weird streets but finally got us there. Located on the banks of the James River with hills, valleys and large trees, this garden cemetery is a beautiful and serene place to walk around. Various tours are offered here, but self guided tours can be taken by downloading a map or getting a map from the visitor center for $1. This is the burial place of two Presidents of the United States and 6 Governors of Virginia. There are many headstones that are works of art. We also came across some animal statues beside a few headstones.“

We chose their chapel as the venue for our funeral/celebration of life and the staff was so respectful and responsive to our needs.
