Worst experience ever trying to make an appointment! Holly at the NN location was the worst and not helpful at all. I had an appointment scheduled over a week ago and she calls the Friday before my Monday appointment to say she's has cancelled my appointment because she received an old referral. I ask if I could get in touch with the Community Care team at the Veterans Affairs Center to get the updated paperwork. She says she can't hold my appointment, not even for an hour, while they fax it over. She was rude and nasty about it as if I was a bother. Many Vets use this facility through the community care program offered by our local VA administration. It's just very unfortunate they have staff not willing to help! Should have read the reviews 1st before selecting this location.

I have been to many MyEyeDr locations over the years and have had pretty good to great service for the most part. But this location in Newport News was literally the worst eye doctor appointment I've ever been to. Let's start with the fact that upon entry they tried tell me, someone who has worn contacts for over 30 years, that a retina screening was required because it's a contact lens exam. The doctor was initially condescending and dismissive but I knew how to get around that and he quickly became more engaging. He still did the absolute bare minimum and didn't even do a contact lens fitting, just used my previous prescription and quickly showed me the door, which honestly I wouldn't mind that, if I didn't have to pay extra for it. The sales lady, who no shade to her for trying to get the hard sale because my insurance is pretty awesome, (but I wasn't buying anything from them after the retina screening incident), then tried to charge me an extra $20 over my copay saying the copay depends on what kind of contact lens fitting you get. What? No what? I just sat there and repeated that this is not my first rodeo and waited for her to get that fake extra charge off my account. She came back and claimed the it's was put in wrong, (a lie because when I checked in they had the correct amount), I put my card on the desk and she asked if I was using that to pay. Really. I just said "yes" picked it up, gave her my card, waited for my receipt and left. Now I'm sitting outside rewriting this review.

Where do I begin? My Eye Dr has an overall good rating, except for this location! Since new management the receptionist "HOLLY" is nasty, rude, short, unprofessional, and not customer friendly AT ALL!!! She has a very nice nasty persona and she tends to lead with sarcasm. She seems as if she has ZERO knowledge of the job that she does from looking at old scripts, knowing the procedure of how to order glasses or contacts. I mean the list goes on. After I get my glasses I won't be returning simply because of her. She must not know how important her job actually is. She is the first point of contact for everyone entering through those doors and I think they could find someone better with more customer service experience and that actually enjoy what they do.
