I came in without an appointment as a walk-in around 2pm for a fill and pedicure. I was immediately greeted by Tatiana & Z, they were both with clients and I knew there would be a wait which was no issue. I am a diabetic so I have to be super careful where I go for my services and this salon does everything according to State Board - very clean and sanitary. I was honestly impressed. My fingers and toes look & feel amazing, I simply cannot wait to go back in 2 weeks!

I needed maintenance free hair asap. I got an appointment the same day I called. I had a lot of hair and Paulina took a LOT of time with me. I got a good cut, but it is a bit shorter than what I asked for.
Would I go back? Definitely! But next time I will print out the haircut I want and tape it to the mirror for her reference.
My hair grows quickly, and in a month it will look just like the pics I showed her. In the meantime I will enjoy having maintenance free hair.

Yes there are tons of Dental offices, but I’m happy I chose this one. Dr Porter was very professional, and knowledgeable. He chit chatted with me so as to make me feel comfortable. He really got the job done. His assistance was great as well. I am definitely going back for all my teeth cleaning, & x rays. I highly recommend them. The entire areas were clean, and well kept. Most insurances accepted.

I am extremely pleased with the braiding service that I received on today. I called the shop Monday afternoon and was sitting in her chair on Wednesday morning. I was at a sandwich shop in Gloucester, and a lady had a perfect, beautiful haircut, so I had to ask her who cut it. Yes, Johnathan. The shop is 1 hour from my house. I walked into a beautiful salon and was greeted by a lady who just made me immediately feel at home. Johnathan walked up with a very calming, nice demeanor. In my 69 years, he is on the top of the list with his gift. My hair was cut with a stack in the back and slightly longer sides.
When I got home, my sweet husband, who is honest said oh my stay with him, you're sexy with that cut.

Perfect for couples! Lauren does both my husband's and my hair. She is good with her time management where she'll start my color, so his whole cut, then finish me up. As someone who has been dyeing her hair for years, it can be hard to find someone who does a color that suits you well (shade and lifestyle). She keeps in mind the season when determining what shade of red I should have along with the upkeep (in the summer, she knows I spend a lot of time outside, so we dyed only my roots so the color wouldn't fade so quickly in the sun). She is also keeps everything clean and is very friendly. She remembers things we've brought up at previous appointments so there's never an awkward silence.

David Doan, owner, is a down-to-earth brother, who gives all of his customers a fair chance. He's a philanthropist and a no-nonsense people-person.
If I'm not mistaken, He may be the only licensed barber. However, several of the barber chairs are made available for apprentice individuals who may be furthering his/her vocational skills in the barbering business. He trains his staff well and ensures that they are meeting state and regulatory standards and protocols.
Usually, David, can get a customer in and out of his chair in less than 20 minutes, depending on the cut. He's fast, accurate, and pays attention to detail, while not charging his customers an arm and a leg.

This is the third time we have come to this Nail Salon. They are SOOOO awesome. Y daughter and I are in love with Annie and Mindy (mother and daughter) and they take such incredible care of us. I come all the way from Chesapeake now to them because they are THAT amazing.
Requested style: I wanted square and they shaped them perfectly. I had just received a new set from a different salon and the nails were lifting. Trisha sculpted them to thin them out and make them look so natural!
Specialities: My daughter wanted an overlay on her natural nails with a sheer pink. They executed it perfectly.
Cleanliness: They washed their hands even when they would pick up the phone and then come back. Super clean and sanitary!
Stylist: Trisha was incredible! She did my nails in the pic. I didn’t get the lady’s name who worked on my daughter but she was tiny and so sweet. Middle aged and sat on the right all the way at the end. She has three daughters of her own and so we chatted about her daughter who is married now and then her middle daughter has a child herself who doesn’t speak much of their native language. But the grand baby calls her Grandmama and it’s precious. I enjoyed talking with them all.
I have never been in a nail spa. Google maps thinks that I did because I was within a quarter mile. For their mistake, you get 5 stars.

I'm the type of person that makes eyebrow contact before eye contact so finding a good threading place for my brows has always been important. Thanks to fellow Yelpers I gave Narin Studio a try. This was my second visit and with my brows looking just as good as they did after my first visit, it will definitely not be my last! The studio is tucked inside the Sola Salon with other smaller beauty studios. Narin Studio is big enough for one customer at a time and is by appointment only. So be sure to call ahead for availability. As far as the threading services go, Narin is very detailed and takes her time. You can tell she takes pride in her work and unlike a lot of other larger threading salons, I've never felt rushed. With my brows looking this good, Narin studio is a huge YES for me!

I generally don't like saunas since I overheat pretty quickly. The red light bed is different. It looks similar to a tanning bed. I was in there for 20 minutes. Only started to get warm, maybe the last two. I did do the red light therapy bed first and then went and did cryotherapy that order is supposed to be more beneficial

Awkward photo, but it'll do. I went to ACT because after following Lucy on IG for a few years I decided to bite the bullet. I was a fumbling mess the first time I met her. (Thanks to anxiety I'll randomly relive those moments time to time and have second hand embarrassment) She talked me through it and we picked a few pieces and started working on my sleeve.
I love going there, it's clean, comfy, the couch...I could sleep on that couch.
But back to the meat of the review. Lucy is light handed and packs the color in. I've been told for YEARS color wouldn't show up on me properly. Lucy showed me otherwise, we finished my right sleeve in April 2023 and the yellow is still as bright as it was the day I left the shop. Immaculate.

I have used Fresh Start Electrical twice this year and have been very pleased with the service they provided. Last Spring we had several outside lanterns replaced and Steven and his trainee Gavin were so helpful. They were even able to make adjustments to install a new doorbell that I purchased which didn't exactly fit, but when they were finished it worked perfectly.
Recently I needed some work done at our office building and was so amazed at the job that Cooper and Cody did. Not only did they correct the problem we were having with some overhead lights but Cooper upgraded our older light fixtures so that not only did they work better but he explained that we wouldn't need to change the bulbs for many years to come. Both teams were there on time, knowledgeable, professional, and very easy to work with. I would also like to mention Brooke who does the scheduling. She is very professional and courteous on the phone and helpful with getting my appointments set up. R.A. Jones built our 135 square-foot addition attaching our main home to a separate "granny-pod" building that we built in 2011. The craftsmanship done by R.A. Jones was beyond excellent. We had a partial kitchen renovation done by Hatchett. Hatchett demoed a peninsula and in its place installed a custom coffee bar cabinet and a large kitchen island 4’x8’. The estimated time was 10.5 weeks and it took 11.5 weeks. People say no renovation is flawless or without a few hiccups. Ours was no exception. Despite all the good intentions and hard work, we still had two delays that set us back three weeks with no work. The setbacks we encountered always turned out to be worth the time they took to resolve. It’s more about the inconvenience than anything else.
Hatchett is a family owned business and they market themselves as the reputable and successful company they have established. They pledge their commitment to their customers and stand by their promise with a 4 year warranty. Every employee or tradesman who took part in our renovation was fun to work with, and were very qualified professionals in their trade.
The end result was amazing and we have a beautiful kitchen to show case their work. Hatchett employees and their tradesman are genuine people, easy to work with and have your best interest at heart.

We have used E&R for the past few years. They came and incapsulated our crawl space and installed a dehumidifier. From start to finish of that project, they were great to work with. We have them come out yearly to check and service the dehumidifier and inspect the crawl space for moisture and pests. They are always prompt and knowledgeable. We are in the process of selling our home and I wanted to be sure that the next owner would be able to have the home serviced if they chose. They were helpful in navigating this and setting things up. Highly recommend!

Hired to remove a tree, and trim 2. One of the trees is a 150 year old beautiful pine. They arrived an hour early but we're just getting their tools ready. The crew and the Boss were polite, efficient and left my place spotless after 6 straight hours of straight hard work. No hidden costs. Know exactly who's doing which part of the job and follow their plan meticulously. I would recommend to anyone! I decided not to do a small part of the job because I liked it better and they adequately adjusted my price. Really good value!

Trees R Us professionally removed a nightmare 110', very dead, oak tree with huge dead limbs overhanging a two story house. The tree trunk was right next to the house, a few feet away from an upstairs balcony. Trees R Us had exactly the right equipment for the job...a small and maneuverable, remote controlled spider lift. I ended up with about 8-10 estimates, and based on the size, location, and very deadness of the tree, several tree companies waved off on the job because they didn't have the equipment, or thought it was too dangerous. The Trees R Us 8-person crew showed up on schedule, on time. They cut the tree down, with no damage to the property. The crew worked hard and efficiently, sawing the downed tree trunk and limbs, and moving them as promised. They completed the entire job, including a very thorough clean-up, in just over 3 hours. I've had several large trees removed over the years, and Trees R Us is by far the most professional tree service company I've seen - highly, highly, highly recommend.
Smith Tree Care crew did a superb job of trimming my trees. Quick response on request for quote, fair price and high quality work. They trimmed two sycamores and a very large willow oak. The three man crew knew exactly what they were doing, limbs were carefully removed and none of my flower beds were damaged, trees were aesthetically shaped and everything was cleaned up and removed. As a retired forester, I set high standards on what was expected and Smith Tree met those standards.
We hired Alvarez Tree service to cut one very big cracked tree. Mr. Alvarez / Tony came at 8 am the next day with his team. We cannot say enough good things about them. They are extremely prompt, professional, kind and pleasant. Alvarez Tree Service is the top of the line and they exceeded my highest expectation. They were able to tackle a very difficult job dealing with a big , cracked tree along a brick wall, fence, and power lines. My HOA was watching this job, and this definitely was not a job for the unexperienced. They even cleaned up after the job so well as though nothing had happened in my yard. Yes there are tons of Dental offices, but I’m happy I chose this one. Dr Porter was very professional, and knowledgeable. He chit chatted with me so as to make me feel comfortable. He really got the job done. His assistance was great as well. I am definitely going back for all my teeth cleaning, & x rays. I highly recommend them. The entire areas were clean, and well kept. Most insurances accepted.

I recently visited Dr. Barnes for a dental cleaning, and the experience was fantastic. The entire process was quick and easy; I was in and out in about 25 minutes from check-in to check-out. As always, the staff was polite, kind, and very engaging. After years of PTSD from childhood dental visits, this office and staff have helped reduce my anxiety to almost zero. I can't recommend Dr. Barnes and her team enough!
Dr. Huie is an incredible pediatric dentist, he makes going to the dentist exciting for my boys! He is hands down he is the best pediatric dentist in Newport News & Gloucester! (Don't be scared of "Gloucester" the office is right over the bridge. His staff is also so friendly! I love seeing familiar faces each time we go to his offices.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Kevin for a month and a half for prenatal adjustments and can’t say enough good things. He’s extremely knowledgeable and informative about what he’s doing and how you can maintain your progress. After just two visits 80% of my discomfort had subside and I was working with just normal pregnancy aches instead of the chronic, shooting pain I was having. It’s made all the difference! He’s also helped my husband quite a bit with his issues and now sees him occasionally for maintenance. He’s made care very affordable and accessible even if you don’t have insurance. It’s very clear that his practice is about the people.

Unable to get appt with my reg chiro of decades for two weeks…booked solid. Too long a wait. Went walk in to Bodhi chiro before. a busy weekend to get relief for lower back which I did. On my way out I asked about my wrist which has been in a brace for seven months and post ortho for XRay, 2 weeks of splinting, OT that hurt, one steroid injection for pain that cost several hundred dollars and inky last two months, and previous occasional chiro manipulation which helped very little. My wrist was manipulated at Bodhi with instructions to leave the brace off, home tx explained as needed, and now am able to use my hand freely and free of the bracing nuisance. . I will return for a follow up for some residual wrist discomfort not impeding my function now and likely purchase the four visit reasonably priced plan. A chiro cannot be expected to resolve all a acute or chronic issues in one session, I am so relieved to have the use of my wrist and sleep,cook, whatever without that brace. I cant believe it…cancelled my upcoming ortho appt to explore options. Was told not to let them perform surgery. Its been a long haul. Thank you Bodhi Chiro Newport News.

Ashley was friendly, professional and explained the paperwork and what I could expect thoroughly. When Dr Mazzurco entered he took time to explain what he would be doing, ensured me that any questions I had were welcome. He is easy to talk to, was obviously concerned about my comfort and understanding. Dr Dove is amazing and is very knowledgeable! She does such a good job with my 4 dogs. She has gone out of her way to get my dog a medical diagnosis that was needed and communicated with me regarding medication changes and whether or not I felt them necessary based on behavior at home. She also introduced me to a shot that is good for my one dog’s arthritis. It is 100% worth the ride from Chesapeake to Newport News once a month because the difference is astronomical! The staff are amazing and will go out of their way to help you. If you are looking for a vet, I highly recommend Dr Dove! Warwick Animal Hospital treats you like you’re family and treats your animals as if they were their own.
Dr. Guftafson is an angel on Earth. He is the most Brilliant and Compassionate doctor I have EVER known (and I’m 62). He knows volumes about veterinary medicine! He keeps up on everything new …. including cutting edge technologies and pharmaceuticals. He also shows compassion during the toughest of times. If you are looking for a vet, please do your precious animal and yourself a huge favor and choose Dr. Guftafson. I wish he was MY physician and my family’s physician, as well! I have had my pets in the care of Dr. Gibson for numerous years, including prior to her having the mobile vet service. I do prefer a mobile vet because the animals are so much more at ease. Dr. Gibson honestly loves what she does and this shows. Whenever I am able, I have her services. She has also been available for euthanasia. While that is awful and sad to experience, I can’t think of a better person, doctor and situation for this need.Because this is a small mobile vet service with limited hours, you generally need to call ahead and schedule regarding availability. If she is unable to perform certain services due to the nature of her mobile service, or feels that your animal would benefit from services elsewhere, she will recommend that.Dr. Gibson is professional, moral, a good communicator and a downright good person and veterinarian who loves animals.
Fort Eustis Veterinary Clinic has been one of the most phenomenal vet experiences I have ever had. They have been very accommodating for my husband and I pcsing and getting the right documents ready for travel. The staff is absolutely amazing and understanding. JD, our cat, was holding up his paw for a few days and we decided to take him to Colony Animal Hospital, our vet provider for many years. Thanks to their early morning drop off (7:30 AM) I was able to bring him in and he would be seen as time permitted. Dr. Riggs was able to see JD early and discovered a burn/cut on his paw. Via phone call she let us know about the injury and her treatment plan and meds we could get when we picked up JD. The care for JD was excellent and the office routines are well established and flow smoothly.

I came in as a walk in, requested the one hour table massage, and paid upfront. Ms. Tina focused on areas I told her needed more pressure than others and she consistently checked in throughout the massage to see if I was doing ok. I’ll be back again for sure!

It was my first scheduled massage and I was nervous about what to expect but the masseuse was so aware of the slightest discomfort and communicated with me. the music helped with relaxation and we were greeted by ice cold water in the end if our session. great tip for great service! definitely be going back soon. thank you! sensory info: the atmosphere was pleasant with light white noise in the back ground. rooms are dim but not dark. doors are curtains. the couple Swedish used warm essential oils and hot stones. Essential oil weren't strong in smell. make sure to communicate sensory concerns. its warm and i had no issues with the temp. Lastly, remember to do all that breathing work through the experience! It really helps ease the anxiety and get a deeper better massage. Enjoy!

Reception: Kristen was great. So soft spoken, and polite. Lynn the owner was at a different desk. She was loud for the setting. Making a personal appointment on her cellphone, she at one point placed them on speaker phone so she could check her calendar and make the appointment. At that point I got the entire conversation and Kristen was on the other line trying to help other clients. I do feel that was a little unprofessional to be that loud in the setting we were all in.Britt was my massage therapist. She was fantastic. My massage was a relaxing one. I normally do not talk too much during the relaxing massages because well, I'm relaxing! Ha. She relaxes me so much that I felt like a jello jiggler when I stood up. Her pressure was perfect. She was very delicate. Britt was kind, and patient. I plan to return.

Went in and asked for a back walking massage which wasn’t available at the time. Then asked for a Swedish massage. Massage was great and worked out all my sore muscles. This is a great spot to go to, I said my neck hurts and I need to remove the pain. She insisted I get the hot stone so I did with a deep tissue massage. She massaged with hands and feet. Feet was used because I was really tight. Thank you again. Will come back.

I’ve being going to TPMG physical therapy for about a month and a half and it’s been such a pleasant experience. The therapists and Aids are extremely kind, polite and friendly. I don’t interact with any other therapists but my own (Jordan and Spring which is fine) and the environment is so welcoming. The exercises they give me and the care they give to make sure they’re going at my pace, making sure I’m okay throughout the exercises and listens WELL to my needs. I might be actually sad when it comes to last appointment. I’ll miss their faces for sure.
Ms. Shannon Williams has been wonderful with my son. He has made amazing progress under her guidance. She made coming to speech fun and exciting. It was his favorite thing to do each week and he is sad to be graduating from speech. I'm so glad that my son had her as a therapist.

Being a person of size, I tend to be sensitive about my weight, but they are not judgy or pushy, just kind and helpful!I have mostly worked with Tyler, but Darren has come in and assisted me a well. The Physical Therapists and doctors listens to my concerns and address them by explaining why and what can be done. They have been very thorough and attentive to my problem area. They will adjust your PT program as needed and as you continue to improve. I will come to this office when needed in the future for all my therapy needs.
