Our 8 year old yellow lab Gracie has been suffering with arthritis of her front left foot which left her in terrible pain - trouble getting up, not wanting to walk, play etc. We have tried the typical canine arthritis meds, and will still continue those for support. Dr Weitzman consulted with Dr Seuss (ortho/soft tissue specialist) who sees patients right here at SML Animal !!!!
She was given a cortisone injection as well as an injection of a gel which improves joint health for cushioning and support.
She is a different dog 24 hours later!!!
Living at SML for over 20 years, how blessed we are to have this level of expertise right here in our backyard!

Friendly professional staff and reasonable prices. Dr. DeMarco was exceptionally gentle and very caring when examining my pup. Excellent practice! Would give them 10 stars but it only goes up to 5 stars on the rating.
Exceptional service and care for my pet today. We had an emergency with one of our cats and our regular vet had no time for it. I called Smith Mountain Lake Veterinary and they were so accommodating. They got is in and the situation was taken care of compassionately and thoroughly. Thank you Dr. Gallagher and all the staff. Love the totally pet friendliness of the entire process. Even their 2 office cats greeted us and made our cat feel more relaxed.
