After a horrific experience in 2022-23 with TWO utterly incompetent, unscrupulous "contractors" (one of which is a national company) for the full renovation of my first floor, I went on a search for help. And I knew, finally, the gods had smiled upon me when I found Sotheby's. Jay stepped up and arranged for his contractor to (re) do everything properly, for a fair price AND in a timely manner (ceramic floor installation, full reno of the kitchen, living room, office, dining room, bath, halls and closet). He worked with me closely every step of the way. His office team and crew are top notch. They stand by everything with their unique 10-year warranty on workmanship! I've just recently hired Sotheby's to do more work at my home: this time to install carpet on my second floor (and ended up also fixing one of the doors to a bedroom at no additional charge) - a stellar job once again! I didn't hesitate one second to recommend Sotheby's to the Board of Directors of a HOA on which I serve. Seriously, there should be a "10 Star" option for Sotheby's. “We had a fantastic experience with Ileana and Jose from Virginia Top Floors installing a new wood staircase. Ileana was accessible, responsive, and patiently worked with us on the design. Our staircase was old and we wanted something that would tie in the older design of our house with something more modern. Ileana had plenty of examples for us to look at, ideas on how to structure the new stairs, and was very open to our thoughts as well. Her expertise in stair design and construction really put us at ease. Ileana was also very transparent in cost with a line-by-line bill of materials with no hidden fees (including a discount for Veterans!). Since we request changes and modifications as the project went along, cost transparency and cost reasonableness were extremely important to us. Once the project started, we met Jose. Jose was super friendly and an excellent communicator, he patiently answered all of our questions, his work is professional, he stuck to the promised timeline, and made sure that even during the construction process, we could still use the stairs (he kept his workspace incredibly clean). Jose also made friends with our unfriendly cat (Jogja) who doesn’t like anyone. Jogja (who was at end of life and has since died) would sit by Jose’s side all day while he worked on the stairs.Ileana and Jose were a pleasure to work with and made our experience incredibly satisfying. They are honest people and work hard to make the customer experience their primary objective. When it’s time to have our floors redone, we will certainly contact Virginia Top Floors.“

“I meant to post this a few months ago, sorry it has taken me so long. In August, 2x4 Construction came to my house to install a sliding glass door. Before they came I thought the price was a little high, but they were recommended so I decided to pay a little more. It was well worth it! My original door wasn't plumb and Junior and John had to do a LOT of work to get my door in correctly. They were there all day on one of the hottest days of the year. Then, in December I noticed that the caulking around the door had come apart. I called Gary and he was over within the week and fixed it at no cost. Of course I gave him some money for his time and work. All three men were wonderful to work with.“
